Thanks for that , when you look at that picture it give you an aspect of the life that area has seen , I would love to go back to that time just to have a walk around .

A very sad occasion.
The week before we were drinking in there, suddenly one of my favourite pubs of all time had disappeared from the face of the earth
I'm nearly crying now while writing this!

I think The Albert was badly damaged by bomb blasts during the war. The city hall columns still bear the marks of the bomb that fell where John Lewis is now. The pub managed to survive but succumbed in the mid 1980s
