“Good luck Lenny you’ve been awesome from day 1 ( i still remember the screamers you scored in your first matches at Dartford & Gt Wakering!)…. and reckon your speed and strength will establish you as a premier league player within 18 months. I personally think your best position is attacking right back and hope you will soon be challenging the likes of Kyle Walker, Nathan Clyne & Jo Gomez as England’s number 2. Thinking about it , it was Sheff Utd who sold on Walker and Kyle Naughton for millions not too many years ago so thats the right club to show your progress at!”
This is really interesting may be he will be cover for right back or given wilder /knills liking for fluidity and rotation maybe he will be a midfielder who can swap with the right wing back and go on rampaging runs
Can't wait to see him play
Some say his best place is right back. I would be concerned if was Basham this guy seems the real deal.
Roy must have the highest posts-to-likes ratio on this forum by a country mile
For who?Burnley are in for him..
The irony"You’ve got it all wrong Sheffield"![]()
I'd like to see bash stay right centre back with him and lenny and baldock all being able to switch positions during a gameI think it'll be Chris Basham who will be looking over his shoulder now that Leonard's finally signed .
Yes, you say that but apart from the points that you’ve just mentioned, what’s Leonard got that Monty hadn’t?He seems to be like Monty but taller, faster, better on the ball, better at shooting, better at passing and better at football in general.
So nothing like Monty.
Glowing indeed Koz. I wonder what he’d have cost us if he hadn’t only got 5 months left on his contract?Such a glowing set of reviews. I'm really exciting by his potential and what this signing represents.
The Wilder way...expansive, attacking football with hungry players in form, on the up, with the ability to step up and some of them for relatively cheaper prices. Baldock, Stevens, Thomas, Lundstram, O'Connell and now Leonard. It's a shrewd but exciting business model and look at what it achieved for Southampton...
I wish Ryan all the best.
Fantastic servant to our football club and literally carried our team at times.
Im pleased that he has gone to a club like Sheffield United. Big club. Big ambition and not looking for 15 million pound players like wolves.
You have yourself a cracking no nonsense old school footballer. Amazingly fast, very very strong. Has a bullet of a shot. If you can improve his passing which is probably his weakness then he will fit in very well at that level and maybe higher.
He will be missed at Southend for sure, but none of us begrudge a young talent the chance to play higher after he has given such great service.
All the best.
