I concur 100%. Years past we’ve heard all the excuses and reasons for cutting the cloth. “Need to cut the wage bill” so take any bid for any player. Then it’s “when a big club comes you can’t stop the player” (Southend and Leonard rubbish that one straight away). Then it was “we’re in league 1”.

Does this club wanna push on? Does it want to make a concerted effort? Can’t see us going down for the next 2 years so some 2 year deals won’t hurt (just a simplistic example).

The owners need to realise the managers ambitipn and his talent. Don’t expect him to work wonders all the time.

Even this year he didn't move the goal posts massively, he's still aiming for prospects from the lower legues.
He'd be well within his rights to say that he's proved himself and that he now demands a war chest worthy of the position he's got us into.

Did I imagine this or did McCabe say in the summer something like "we won't be shopping in Aldi for all our purchases"
