It was sunday the 3rd May 2009 when Sheffield United regained their rightfull place back in the top flight of english football with a crushing win over crystal palace.
What was to follow can only be classed as world domination.
Sheffield United survive the dreaded 1st season in the top flight and then go from strength to strength under Kevin Blackwell. In the 2nd season back up they win the F.A Cup for the 5th time in the clubs history and the following season pip Queens park rangers by 7 points to become the champions of england again.
Successive years bring more glory and cups and finally after 5 years after getting promotion Sheffield United beat Real Madrid to become the champions of europe.
Many many years pass and sheffield united are hailed as the biggest and best supported club in England. Ground improvements over the years after promotion took the capacity at Bramall Lane to just over 110,000.
At the grand age of 98 Sir Alex Ferguson retires at Manchester United which leads to them trying to poach Kevin Blackwell. Kevin declines the offer from Manchester united saying it would be unwise and foolish to go to a smaller club.
Sheffield United directors also after consulting their world famous supporters step in to buy-out the once league club and and enemy sheffield wednesday. The United directors do this to use wednesday as a feeder club for the Blades reserves and also to amuse the fans.
The year is now 2059, 50 years after the long fogotten day at Palace.
Sheffield United officially have broken every record going in the football world winning all major cups and trophies and far out-stripping manchester uniteds old records under sir alex.
By 2059 sheffield united after long legal wrangling own the copyright to the name "UNITED" and all other inferior clubs have to be re-named or pay the Blades £50 million per season for the right to use our name.
The only exception is west ham who are forbidden and have to be re-named ham..:thumbup:
