I am far less confident that we will keep him after today's interview. Seems like Wilder won't have the final say.
Seeya sunshine :(

Yep, he was pretty clear about the fact he doesn't want to sell him and that if we do it's nowt to do with him. Also hesitated and changed the subject when asked if he had a comfortable budget to work with.

Bit depressing some of that interview, but as he says we're not a million miles away from getting it back on track, as the Bristol City game showed.

If you listen to the interview, he didnt... not sure what giddings is doing....

Glad I wasn’t the only one to find that comment odd based on the interview. It’s possible it was clarified afterwards, but certainly wasn’t what Wilder said in what was recorded. Though 4 was the ideal number of transfers in.

Also add to this he said he wanted 4 in before losing any. I heard it as though if we lose 4 he wanted more.

This may be an opportunistic way of looking at it but.... let's not forget, if we come out saying we have a massive war chest to get promoted, teams like Southend add an extra few £100k onto players like Leonard (if not double their valuation).

But then I can't help think; we hadn't planned for the the Kyle and Harry money this season so even with FFP we should have at least 80% of that money on top of any original budget drawn up before the season.

Thoughts?

As January approaches speculation seems to be getting more rife about bids for Brooks. I was sure a few weeks ago that he would stay but you get he feeling based on Wilder's recent interview that if an offer comes that the "club can't refuse" that he'll be off! So what's that fee? £10m probably. I wouldn't sell him for less than £15 and I'd want a sell on fee at least 20%, not like the Harry deal when we got just 10% - £1.7m.

And the additional 5000 (half) season tickets

Bloke with a faggot bun in toilet has told me he’s been at Liverpool.

Signed and sealed. £18m

I don't think you can take any notice of what anyone says immediately prior to a transfer window. Everybody is acutely aware that selling and buying teams are listening in and rash statements can add value to transfer targets and encourage lower bids for the likes of Brooks. It's all smoke and mirrors now, as it should be.

We can speculate on incomings and outgoings all day long, but the only point at which we'll truly know, is when it happens...........or doesn't

If Liverpool are bidding for Brooks - why accept £18m?
We should insist on £20m as a minimum, what's £2m to an outfit who can spend £76m on some defender?
How can we turn down £20m?
The problem is, even if £20m was paid up-front, how much would be available to be spent on players?
Surely a no-brainer, if Wilder can strengthen the team?
We lack depth, look what has happened following one injury after the Burton game.

Didn't think fees got paid up front. Don't they generally get paid over the length of the contract?

Obviously Don't want him to go. But pochiteno & Tottenham is best place if he does as he wont rot on the bench as they actually trust the youngest unlike other 5 in top 6

But come on its starts at £20m
