As I've said in another thread, I'll hold my hand up and say I was critical of him before today, and then again today at half time (never said he was shit, mind). But he was excellent in the second half and for me he has earned a run in that position.

Thought he was terrific tonight. Their keepers made a really good save first half. He's looked for the positive ball all night and he must despair as the moans go up. If you want to see sideways and backwards for 80 minutes, fuck off to Hillsborough.

Not necessarily saying you're wrong, but when you make this claim it may help to provide a few quotes to back it up. I don't notice many praising sharp to the high heavens, but i honestly don't see many slagging him off either. My guess is the vast majority of our fans appreciate him but recognise his shortcomings, as every player has them.

Lundstram is ok, not great, but still think we should be looking to strengthen this area.
 

Early doors. Give him time to bed in. He looks OK to me anyway.

I don't know why anyone takes any notice of those moaning idiots, they all look like they are care in the community or just been let out of prison.
 
I thought he did OK, few misplaced passes straight to blue shirts. Would not surprise me if Stearman comes back to defence and Bashembaur goes midfield.

That said will CW go 442?

I think he is gonna stay in there, he just needs to add something to going forward a bit quicker

Too quick to turn back, sometimes his first thought needs to be, to go forward

So just the one thread then? How many posters on that thread we’re being negative about Sharp compared with how many people have been supportive? I’m assuming there’s many more negative comments seeing as you’re the only person on here who appreciates him.

We can make this 800 posts again if you like or you could just admit that you’re talking nonsense. It’s up to you but you really should just let it go
 
I'm sure when OP started this thread he was hoping it would turn into a debate about Billy Sharp.

Type in his name and do your own fucking research.
 
The important point for me was normally Coutts has been average/ adequate BUT today he showed signs of playing the Coutts role.

I thought he played really well. It’s the best I’ve seen him play and let’s not forget he’s very young and will only get better.
 
He has had a bit of unfair stick. Thought he was decent tonight. But this is the area we defiantly need to strengthen in January.
 
He is not Coutts and much more mobile. Coutts takes and gives a five to ten yard pass to change the picture. Lundy does this but moves further away and often does not show for the return like Coutts will. If he is to develope in to this roll then our coaching staff will point it out. It was evident tonight that Duffy and Fleck are both Top Class enough to realise the difference and they will help him.(Not carry him).
Bergen Blade will be along shortly to show folk the difference.
