Sorry to start another thread on this but while out working in the van today and listening to talk sport heard Adrian Durham saying that Brooks international future is not 100 % decided and he will have more on this on his drivetime show next week

This was said at the top of the show like it was a big exclusive

Wondered if anyone else heard it ?

Wouldn’t surprise me if he re-thinks his allengces as Wales aren’t going to the World Cup as may a couple of other youngsters.
Let’s be honest Wales would always be there to fall back on.

As long as he's wearing our red n white, I couldn't give a flying fuck!
I think if we go up this season we will keep him , if we stop in this league we could lose him !!

Not worried about that, I think playing is more important to him than having shiny things and gracing an under 23's game every weekend, i honestly think he will choose to stay what may.
Just hope the powers that be have been honest an Chris fucks off any sniffers like he has done.

Does Durham have any links to us? I know he's a big Posh fan but he always seems really knowledgeable and complimentary about us.

I don't know but he dropped the bomb and then said he would explain more in his midweek dtivetime show

I thought that was strange as he was hosting the Saturday show which is their flagship

Could be nowt but it sounded like he had some inside info

Depends how much he fears his Mum haha.. Read an interview about how his Mum and her Welsh family were so proud, my Mum's family are also Welsh and I wouldn't be allowed in the house if I went back to England having being called up by Wales :D

I like him. I know he does the 'shock jock' ridiculous opinion thing to get a reaction and spark debate (not as bad as he used to) but if you get past that gumph he's a proper lower league football fan who knows his stuff outside of the Prem bubble.

I'll try and listen next week.

Brooks is a late developer, a 16 year old in a 20 year olds body; which is highly unusual..

He has total faith in United's management team to develop him at the right pace for himself, as evidenced by telling his agent he does not want to go anywhere else when renegotiating his contract and was happy to sign a long term deal.
A rare show of faith and loyalty amongst today's footballers; which I am sure has endeared himself even more to Blades fans.

I really hope i am right. as he is the most exciting young talent I've seen since Woody and Currie.

Seems like the experience at Moneybags Citeh has told him that he was at the richest club in the country and would never be able to play for them in the first team. They released him and Sheff Utd allus showed faith in him and offered him a pathway. He seems like he has good Northern values and sees that loyalty being reciprocated. He wants to play and he can get a long way in his career with us.

The other thing is - regardless of our
individual ages as punters on here - we are all living the dream vicariously through Brooks.

Not matter how well he plays in the Championship, he will not get called up for England. He’d need at least half a season in the Prem before he got considered. And besides, we all know England would rather pick a top 5 club player who’s only got 3 appearances all season but has a few caps in the past than a player that actually deserves it.

3 games for man united usually does it.. that's why we're crap.. personally i'd rather play with Bale at Wales

I agree mate -even though I am English through and through I think we have more chance of keeping DB if he plays for Wales who would play him when he plays for a championship club rather than England who he will never play for unless he gets into the premier league....

He'd look a bit daft if he changed his mind now and there's no guarantee he'd ever be picked for England.
Although he looks like he's going to be a very good player he is only currently an impact sub in the Championship.
Also think it's going to be interesting to see how Wilder continues to bring him on. It's obvious that he tends not to put the same defensive effort in as Leon and Billy (which nearly cost us against Reading) and it's a bit of a balancing act for how and when we play him because of that.

Well I think he’s clearly enjoying being immersed in the Wales squad. You just need to cast a glance at his twitter feed to see the friendships he’s developing with the likes of Woodburn and others.

He’ll be capped for Wales in November and this will be the end of any debate in the issue.

I'd guess he's started about two games out of 14 this season and has mainly been used as a substitute.
For me it's obvious there's an issue for Wilder about the way we play and the way Brooks doesn't put the same defensive shift in - and that he has to balance that out.
Are you angry we've been doing so well this season without Evans?

To describe him as you did as only as currently an impact substitute is just wrong, did it upset you that we beat Wednesday,?

Stick to your Ched hating agenda,******

I think any player should play for the country of his birth or that of his parents, none of this where his granny comes from for fucks sake, and that goes for any other sport.

Exactly as it should be. Brooks it seems haa an English Dad and a Welsh Mum. Qualifying for both he shold go for what he thinks will further his career (I reckon he probably feels more English but has a interest in both). If that's the case...he should stick with Wales. Until England have a complete top to tail re think then thet are just a basket case at international football level. And being a proud English man that hurts to say. I hope Brooks has a fantastic international career with a country who would appreciate him. Stick with Wales young man.
