Not for me. Coutts has been our best player this season without a doubt for me. Totally controls the games.
Fleck is awesome too. Losing either would be a travesty.

So we have the best pass completion ratio as a team, and the best individual passer.

He probably has more touches than anyone else in the team to. The 3yrd pass that he does will contribute well to all those stats. The long crossfield balls he delivers out of play that punchy likes are the main let down at the moment. His tackling and closing has got loads better this season. He is as important as anyone in the squad.
I just wish he'd shoot more because he could be that goal scoring midfielder we'd all like to see.

I bet you'll find that Coutts has by far the most passes preceding an assist.

Also, he makes it look easy. He gives himself time. He makes himself available and mixes his passes up and is the key to how we stretch teams to "get in around the back"

Coutts has been my player of the season so far. From the first game he has been class.. Fleck took a bit longer to get used to the pace of the championship.

Those 3 yard passes keep the ball moving and move the opposition around when there's nothing on,and create gaps to get attacks going.
Nearly everything comes through Coutts...starts us off...always showing for the ball,and keeping everything ticking over...rarely gives the ball away...Part of the best United midfield in years for me.

Are you actually being serious?

We've actually had these types of players before - Harper, Britton and Howard to name 3. Unfortunately the defenders were told to hoof the ball forward by the manager, thus bypassing said players, resulting in half our fans calling them shit.

Yaya Toure always did it and David Silva too for Man City although Silva does get a lot further forward to perform the Fleck role too.

If Man City just played Matt Kilgallon style cross field passes, Toure and Silva would've long gone and have been deemed massive premier league failures.

When a player completes so many more passes than anyone else in the league and has so many touches in a team that's far from a tippy tappy outfit, you can certainly read plenty into it. He's a highly influential player.

But a lot of fans, myself included, think Coutts is more important to our style of play than Billy and would be a lot harder to replace.

Taking nothing away from Sharp, who is loved by all Blades fans, odd that you'd think so differently.
