It will be some patronising stuff like “desire and effort overcomes higher quality in Derby thriller.

I thought pommpey 's article just about covered it earlier. Probably being proof read whilst they find the appropriate images

I had a look at The Guardian minute by minute, their thoughts before Kick Off:

'If we are being reductive, this looks as if it could come down to Wednesday’s guile vs United’s grit. Can United stop Wednesday playing? Can Wednesday open United up? Can United set a high tempo and cause problems of their own?'

I wonder is they thought Duffy's goal was pure grit? In fairness, they did say we were much the better side by the end.

"That Joao Goal Though, Eh?"
Didn't see the match live because I was at work, but was following on social media. It was a tidy finish, but I was expecting some 30 yard screamer for the way I saw pigs fans going off about it.

Carlos will be running round Sheffield in the morning buying them all up :D

The (I think) ex sports editor of the Star who wrote the column last season about how Blades should want the Pigs to win the play offs is at it again.

I'm not going to link to his article because I don't want to generate traffic for him but here's a summary:

Headline:

"Was city of Sheffield the real derby winner - or did aggressive fans tarnish the day?"

No Martin. The real winner was Sheffield United playing brilliant football by 4 fucking goals to 2. There may have been the odd scuffle but nothing that you don't get at any derby game in the country.

"It wasn’t quite revenge for the Boxing Day Massacre but Unitedites are already calling Sunday’s 4-2 win at Hillsborough the ‘slaughter in September.’"

Why even bring a game in 1979 into it? And I would argue a 4 2 away win is pretty impressive given the money they've spent. And why mention the 'slaughter' quote (which I havent heard anywhere) given the context of the article? Hmmm.

"Walking past the Graduate pub just off Tudor Square at around 3pm on Sunday you’d have thought they’d won the Champions League."

Well sorry for celebrating such a great derby win. And who the fuck are "they"? And why focus on our fans in an atricle about trouble breaking out eh? No mention of Pig fans being dicks on Hillsborough corner at all.

I try and defend the Star at times, indeed the report by James Shield was great and Chris Holt got his blog about spot on - but then this happens - sorry but it is The Stir at it's worst.

All the joke threads we did about how the Star would report our win and this twat publishes this piece of shit. I'd say unbelievable but it isn't really from the pen of this wanna be :fattwat::fattwat::fattwat: cockwomble.
