It probably doesn't need it's own thread but Wilder has just referred to Saturdays game as the perfect next one to have.
I don't want last season's energy to die off so early in the season when it's pride, momentum and belief that brought us to the dizzy heights that we achieved last year.
As I've said before we all know we need to straighten, we were all under no illusion that this season would be anything but tough but we've just had two incredibly tricky games.
Wilder WILL NOT roll over and let this fantastic energy the club has right now just dwindle away and what better to reignite it than to batter our local rivals.
Listening to Chris it's hard to see him not starting with Ched and/or Brooks Saturday, which will obviously be a statement of intent.
Fleck, Sharp, JOC and a few others will hit form soon, hopefully before the derby (the real one) but until then keep the belief, embrace being under dogs and let's make BDTBL a fortress for the whole season.

Agreed on this. It looks like it's another part of the post Cardiff interview and adds a bit more 'meat to the bones' of what he'd said in the other part.

His belief that we still need to add more depth hasn't changed so let's hope we have some more challengers in the side come Saturday.

As for Brooks and Ched, I agree, I think they will start. With Ched though, as good as he looked against Cardiff...I hope it's not too soon.

Did you see the part where he said he didn't want to hear Neil tell us we will be "fine" when they went for a drink after?
I bet that really fired him up.

Yeah and not trying to read too much into it, I think the reality hit him that whilst he enjoys the underdog tag he just doesn't want those conversations post match.

Not even sure Neil had actually said that to him or if it's the conversation he was expecting to have once he'd finished the media duties.

To be honest Ive been wondering if it's just our away form that will suffer this year.

To be fair we should have left the Riverside 1-1 and nearly made half time in Cardiff 0-0.

Our away form is not too bad apart from the points haul.

Credit where it's due - Barnsley are the blueprint for how to "consolidate" in this division after promotion. Saturday will be a fantastic game, i dread the response on this forum though if we lose - wave after wave of threads about missing links and ambition.

Barnsely should have more than consolidated. They were pushing for a playoff place until they had all their best players sold in the Jan window.

Love Wilders interviews... "I don't want to be just ok, I want more than that...."

Bring it on Tufty!

I can't see any games this season which will be anything but tricky. Burton, Millwall, Bolton? Nobody will roll over.

Just think where they'd be if they didn't flog players like Hourihan and Winnall.

You surely mean 1-1 half time at Cardiff after the CB's juggling act in the area? If that wasn't a penalty, then I don't know what is!!!!

Wouldn't call it the perfect game. It's a good one but not perfect.
They've just got their first win so will have tails up and be confident. Plus it's a derby and anything can happen
