Moore - gone through a period of saving us points and now has fallen off a cliff into an area of potentially costing us. Have a seat on the bench.

EEL - I don't understand the Brayford like love in with him. He's absolutely bomb scare and jumps two feet taller than when he stands. Have a sit down.

Basham - Round peg in a variety of square holes. Good squad player. The next seats yours.

Done - Inneffective bordering on hopeless wherever he plays. But because he runs about a bit he can do no wrong for some people. Get rid.

    Scougall - See Done

McNulty - Offers nothing. Nothing at all. Get rid.

Clarke - One acceptable game every 5. Wave goodbye.

    Darthblade and hello like this.

Mmmm. Done Scougall and McNulty - who virtually everyone could critique with accuracy, S4's take on footballers seems a little lacking.

Oh.....you mean your "Utter garbage. No effort, no passion, no attempt to do his job adequately. Did nothing all night other than stand out of position and casually saunter back when they are attacking and then careless toss away possession every time he got it. Get this wage thieving tosser out of our club now. Dean Hammond returns." post.

Clever stuff dickwipe.
What's your point?

Always happy to be proved wrong. However, 4 out of those 7 points turned out to be pretty accurate. Therefore I've gotten more right than I've gotten wrong. Maybe my op was also a tad harshly worded, but I stand by my pound that Brayfords performance was a shambles.

Gotten? Eh?

Well from an outsiders point of view it seems like this history you speak of it herb expressing an opinion and the you have a dig simply because of who posted it. It's boring mate, give it a rest. And maybe I don't own the thread but I have respect for the site rules, and I'd request that you do the same too. Up the blades.

Yet you can post an opinion on someone with no right of reply - which the vast majority who have passed an opinion disagree with - which seems as personal as another posters comment. Because it's clearly not a fair comment on his performance tonight.

Wouldn't you be more at home on Mumsnet or Loose Wonen?

Anyone remember that fella who dropped a division with a hefty pay cut we all used to like?

Even if some of us did think it was a lot of money to spend at the time even with that in mind, it's not his fault we paid him what we did (and that we gave him a promotion bonus).

My main critique is that he needs a bloody hair cut and to help himself get a move if the door is closed with Mr Wilder.

Ooooooooh. I'll leave you boys to it then.

I'd say three. Three that everyone but family members would agree with, hardly makes you some sort of sage and I'm frankly amused by the thought that you think pointing out the fucking obvious on those three makes your comments on Brayford tonight, valid.

I have an opinion on Brayford tonight. I have an opinion on every one of the players there tonight. Doesn't make it necessary right or wrong but it does make it valid because any legitimate opinion is valid. I'm not forcing you to agree. If everyone agreed then this would be a pretty boring place.

He can reply if he wants too. He can do it in a number of ways. I don't see footballers banned from the internet. The preferred way of replying would be for him to work his bollocks off and prove me wrong. If he does that then I'll shake his hand, buy him a drink and say well played. Happily.

Valid
(of an argument or point) having a sound basis in logic or fact; reasonable or cogent.

I didn't see much that was reasonable, for starters.

If an opinion is to be valid it needs to take into account the above. You believing it to be true just because it's yours means nothing.

Well haven't the club told the players to stay away from this kind of thing£ Let's be straight, it's pretty safe ground for posters on here when it comes to current players challenging them. For all of us.

I think your assessment is wrong. In fact I know it's wrong. Primarily because virtually no one agrees with you.

I was one of Beard's biggest fans - with my Fear The Beard T- shirt, masks, false beard at Wembley etc. Somebody on here said they thought he was OK tonight, but the point is that OK is not OK for The Beard. Although, he's a good footballer his real value was his attitude, his energy and his commitment. The place lifted every time he got the ball and surged forwards. Remember Jim Phipps - He's not just a full back, he's John Brayford.

Well tonight he was an OK defender - maybe at fault for the goal, I haven't looked at the video. But he wasn't John Brayford.

Now that's fair comment.

Having watched the game myself ....... the conclusion that I drew from this was that none of the first 11 will feel threatened at all :(

Brooks probably did enough to get on the bench vs 'boro and Eastwood did himself no harm for the future, but the rest missed an opportunity to put themselves in Tufty's mind.

Duffy, Brayford, Lafferty & Lavery could have all been much more influential but missed the opportunity ....... some of the crossing in particular was woeful

UTB & FTP

If we get the John Brayford back of a couple of years ago I'll be happy with that. I don't know a Blade that wouldn't be pleased and it having had a scout around on t'interweb Burton fans seem to feel he was instrumental in keeping them in this division with his wholehearted displays.

But if he's not the Brayford of a few years ago then I won't be upset if he leaves.

P.s. I find some of the comments about his performance by certain posters on this thread rather childish.

IMO Brayford did ok. Better at rwb than RCB but, he and the ither ten are adapting to each other. That was the first time they had played a competitive match together. In 2nd half I felt he stepped it up and was reasonably succesful in moving play forward. On a couple of occasions they had to resort to fouling even if they weren't given (particularly the body check on Brayford). I was happy to see him play and feel that with more game time, he can make a worthwhile contribution to the cause.

I'd humbly suggest that the door isn't closed with Mr Wilder: this was the second game of the season with a 10 day international break coming up. If the door was closed for Brayford it would have been Basham playing last night.

The rest of your post is spot on. Brayford also didn't ask to get a career threatening injury putting his body on the line for us; something else people conveniently forget.

Some of the vitriol aimed towards Brayford is utterly, utterly embarrassing. By all means criticise a player if they've had a stinker (which is doesn't really sound like he has according to most), but a cunt? Wage thief? Really?

It's a shame if he's not a 'Wilder player', but having experienced the last 12 months, I've grown rather fond of Wilder players. Beard or no ruddy beard.

Buena fortuna, Brayford.

He was absolutely appalling when he played on the right hand side of a back 3 yesterday. He was caught out of position countless times, and the first Walsall goal game when they look advantage of a John Brayford sized hole in the back line. When Bashambauer came on, I thought that it was Brayford going off, but he switched it and Brayford moved to the RWB position and he looked a lot better in that role.

I personally think at the minute that his time at the Lane has been and gone. He was fantastic during his loan spell and became a real cult hero. He was decent in a very poor defence when he came back under Clough until he got injured, and when he came back he was very poor like a lot of others under Adkins, and I don't know if it as budgetary issue or Wilder genuinely didn't want him after 4 games last season. If he can do what Freeman and Coutts did then that will brilliant, and I would like to think that there is still a player for us in there.

I also think that a lot of other players who if they had turned in a performance like he did for the first 60 minutes of last night, would have been slaughtered by the fans, but I still think he has got a bit of goodwill

Perhaps @s4-blade you would like to watch this and tell me what he did wrong?

Now I know it is only the extended highlights but if you care to put the whole game on and point out what minutes he did things wrong you may get a few on your side?
Perhaps you could start by explaining why Brayford was at fault for the first goal? it looks to me as though our next defender is not positioned right as in at a diagonal to Brayford towards our goal?
There is nothing on these Highlights that suggest what you are saying about his positioning and sauntering back but as said this is only a few highlights where he looked as goood as Ched or Duffy.
