With all games being streamed on iFollow, does this mean that there should be a free stream elsewhere for it on more illicit websites? I reckon so.

I'm asking for a friend, purely for academic reasons.

Not every match. In Aug/Sep, Middlesbrough game and Barnsley game definitely not being shown live.
But they will be on TV I'm more talking about whether we will be able to do the vpn from the U.K. without been banned , this would make the season 100x more enjoyable , stick Keith on the radio and sync it to the match

Ah, yeah, see what you mean. I live abroad, so the number of games not being shown on iFollow is possibly going to be a deal breaker. The not being available to see full highlights until next day 12pm GMT is frustrating, too.

As I mentioned further down the thread, no. Not because the pirate streamers can't do it, but because the iFollow games most likely won't be shown on any satellite channel, which is usually where they get the feeds from. The games would be 100% third-party streamed if they were on Slovak TV or something but if they are only on an Internet site with maybe 1000 subscribers, I wouldn't be too confident.

However there are private Blades fans groups online where someone will probably re-broadcast. Not sure how hard they will try to clamp down on this.

Will be no chance of getting it on Freeview down here.
Need the Iplayer for the commentary and will be relieved when I see it for the Brentford game, unless I make the 420 mile journey to the game.
UTB
Mate, the iplayer is finished. If you want live commentary you have to sign up for ifollow.

Has that been confirmed, that radio sheffield no longer have the commentary?
I used to get the commentary on blades player when I was abroad but at home used radio sheff.

Bladesplayer is no more. You can still sign up to ifollow and get live commentary for similar prices to bladesplayer.

Interestingly, and I dont think its been pointed out anywhere yet, but you can actually pay to watch the games online on a game by game basis (outside the UK obviously) at a mere €6 a game. I bought the season ticket however.....

I know bladesplayer has finished but bushblade said iplayer (which is a bbc service) was finished. Thats the bit Im confused about.

It would save me time if you read the thread but are you talking about listening to it live? Out of RS area? Because if you listen to the radio on the Internet, live commentary is blocked for those outside the RS area. So the only way you could listen to it was via Bladesplayer. Bladesplayer doesn't exist anymore so if you want to listen to live commentary outside the RS area you'll need to subscribe to ifollow.

Know where I can get GCB Ringtone for a 3210?

So you was refering to bladesplayer and not iplayer. :)

Easy enough for you to get ifollow, bladeplayer and iplayer mixed up.

That's because I was replying to Kentblade who used the term iplayer. It would have saved me a lot of time if I'd just PM'd him. He's obviously using Bladesplayer in Kent because BBC iplayer won't work in Kent when live commentary is being broadcast.

Much confusion it would seem. Blades player is gone. replaced by ifollow. Ifollow home games video /audio= Kevin gage. Ifollow away games video/ audio = away teams local commentary team.
Radio sheffield = Keith Edwards and that other guy only on- fm, dab and bbc iplayer. Bbc commentary wont be on ifollow, they have to be synced up which is a pain so ifollow have Gagey who will be there and his commentary fed into the video feed for broadcast. Hope thats cleared up any confusion fellow blades !

Fair play, well summarised.

For info purposes you won't be able to watch Ifollow with the sound turned off and listen to Keith's commentary simply because the time difference can be miles out. As much as 2 or 3 mins last season. I tried it with live streams last season, so I assume the issue will be the same this season.

I thought it was blocked for everyone on the net - how dey do dat? Didn't think location of IP addess/ISP info was that accurate within a country.

Re iplayer confusion, I'd just assumed Kentblade meant iFollow when he said it.

I don't know. It may be but I live in west London. If I'm in Sheffield and United are playing, I'm there, not trying to listen to it on the Internet.

Me too, but I like to listen to away games and home games I can't get to (I'm not in Sheffield either). Think it is blocked full stop on RS website.

Just as an FYI, I spoke to ifollow today and asked if I could watch games at work in Gibraltar and at home in Spain and they said that the service when signed up is tied to one physical internet connection, I presume by IP range, so anyone with a VPN may struggle..... Annoying for me that I can't watch while at work tho but also means people going on holiday etc won't be able to watch!

They will also still be broadcasts of games against teams who haven't signed up to the ifollow service which is good news as there are about ten championship teams who haven't!

The replay not being available until midday GMT the following day is a deal breaker for me...live games are in middle of night here in Australia & replay not available until 10pm Sunday night. I emailed EFL to see if this may change in future & got this reply:

Thank you for your further email.
However, we can only really reiterate that as part of the terms of the service, the reproduction of full match replays are currently not available until 12 noon the day after the game.
Thank you for contacting the EFL.

Its probably so Sky / ITV / International channels etc get the exclusive highlights.

Might do that in that case, didn't spot that

You could probably pay some techie in India a pittance to record the game for you and have it waiting for you when you wake up.

If anyone knows such an Indian techie could they let me know?

He'd need to be trustworthy as once I'd paid for his ifollow access he could just forget about me, kick back with a couple of Kingfishers & get into watching the Blades storming the Championship every week!

Might be worth the risk though...

I'll be moving to a new house within a month, should I expect problems?

Not sure, I did reply and ask the question when it sets the single IP and am still waiting for a response, I imagine it will be set the first time you watch an actual live stream. Will let you know as soon as they reply. These guys do the NFL and the NHL so will know what they are doing!

I thought the majority of home internet service provider had dynamic ip addresses which change quite regular?

I can't see how they can set it to one IP for the reason above, and also a lot of expats move around often. There would be chaos if your subscription was linked to one IP.
