Oh of course, I'm not saying Billy won't or shouldn't start, I'm sure he will...I just think Grigg could fit in nicely with how we're set up...

re: Pace...we've faced this problem before and I just don't know who we can get in who is fast, scores goals, is not crap and who doesn't cost an arm and a leg!

Maybe a loan???

How old is Adrian Littlejohn these days?!

Can't think of anyone that fits your description but there will be someone out there that fits the bill, as you say, maybe a loan.

No thank you, decent league 1 striker not good enough for championship, not done it in the championship yet, there's better options out there

That same Twitter account claimed yesterday that we'd agreed a fee of £500k for Louis Reed from Barnsley.

Considering Reed is on loan at Chesterfield, i'm inclined to think that this isn't the most credible of Twitter transfer pages.
It's full of shit. They blocked me for questioning their blag competition with a made up winner

Its got to be bullshit, even if it isn't though I very much doubt United would fork out the fee Wigan would want. I'll hazard a guess for at the very least £2m as they'll wanna keep him to help fire them back to the Championship.

Let's say it is £2m, that's peanuts in football nowadays but United are still not willing to pay that kind of fee especially on one player. After this season though we'll have to start paying those sorts of sums just to even stay in the Championship let alone be competitive.

I can't see this happening myself but if it does I think he would be a good edition to the squad and possible we would have to sell Hanson

On the the one had I agree with you to an extent, we tend to punch well below our weight, and have done since they abolished the maximum wage. On the other hand how much did Huddersfield spend? Now we have a manager who we all seem to think knows what he's doing this really should be the time to push the boat out.

I know Hudders had the lowest budget last season so that proves that it can be done on the cheap however this is not the case every season. I certainly don't want United to splash millions upon millions like a lot of Championship clubs do, but what I think is important is that McCabe's mindset doesn't remain that anything between £2m - £5m is too much for a player as this is going to make it really difficult to gain promotion and it may take CW a lot longer to assemble a side capable of doing so with a poor budget. Whereas in today's market the aforementioned figure range as I say isn't that much money for a player anymore even in the Championship.

I hope we do push the boat out as we've never really done that before, but I emphasise again that the club may have no option but to spend a lot more anyway than we ever have done in the past just so we can stay competitive let alone fighting off relegation. The club's attitude towards transfer fees that are commanded today must loosen up at the very least. I think we can get away with it this season as the team we have should be good enough not to go straight back down, but this time next year and the following seasons if we want to push on which obviously is the aim then we've ultimately got to spend a few million.

Where is it stated Huddersfield had the lowest budget? Not taking anything away from their achievement but Surely they didn't have a budget smaller than Burton's ,Rotherham's and maybe even Barnsley's for that matter?

That is what has been reported yes, either on a par with Rotherham's if not lower.

Scored for fun in League One when they got promoted but then did fuck all in the Championship.

As was said by Herbert, he started off well then got injured and was played out of position on return.

Does he still do those packs of sausage rolls 3 for £1?

He's pasties best.

I am all for this new food stand in Bramall Lane, that is what this thread is about right?..

Greggs would never open a shop at the lane due to the limited am out of pies they'd be allowed to sell at half time, their share would probably only be 6 per stand, so that's 1 less than pukka, to keep things fair, and Greggs would probably lose money then.

Is he good? Or did they just make a good song up about him?
