Anyone that doesn't make me feel depressed such as this one...

Bless um, they don't have enough money.

Just because I can't 'like' twice.

They can't afford him anyway.....I'm afraid to say we will be fending off premier league clubs by January, not grubby little wannabe shit stain clubs.

But in all seriousness, he's a player we want to build the club around. Offer him a longer deal, pay rise with a further yearly raise on top for loyalty. Then have an agreement in place if he really does become the top player in the league that he can go on a release clause that is mutually agreeable....say £10m would be fair.

10mil fuck off .20mil as a minimum , 40mil to the truffle hunters. Make them squeal if they really want him.

But in fairness, if we were asking Fleck to ensure we get a fee by asking him to accept a rolling contract providing a good buffer, you would have to make sure you didn't price him out of a move if we don't match his ambitions down the line.
In his case....ask him for two seasons.
If we aren't a play off side/promoted let him go. For a man with probable international and premier league aspirations it's only fair. If he did this he would go with my blessing...but not to them I might add.

I said that the other day regards Brooks, but I was mainly referring to our academy lads

I know what you're saying, but it does worry me with first team players as well as the young lads.

I can't ever remember us selling a player and thinking we'd got a cracking deal. Some have turned into good deals but never at the time of sale have I thought we'd got above market value for a player.

Jordan Slew

He turned into a good deal.

£1m from a Premier League club for a promising young striker who was part of the youth cup final team isn't anything to get excited about.

Joe Ironsides was a promising young striker who was part of the youth cup final team,we had Blackburns pants down with Slew, getting a million was an exceptional deal

Knowing what we know now, it's an amazing deal, but I'm talking about at the time, you were certain that Slew would turn into the player he has? You knew that he was never worth that sort of money?

£1m isn't a lot of money in football today, in fact it's peanuts to a Premier League club. Why anyone would think selling a young player or any player for that matter to the Premier League for that kind of money would represent a great deal is beyond me. It's an OK deal, nothing more.

Our record transfer received is for Walker and Naughton at £8m combined, that says it all for me.

Agree completely and to think that Walker represented only 3 mill of that including all add ons is both depressing and astonishing. Anyone with the most basic understanding of football could see, after a handful of games, that he was by far the better of the two and almost certainly a future international.

In fact, I was so confident of the latter that I wrote to Ladbrokes and asked for a price on him winning a full England cap before the age of 22 after he had only played 7 games for us. The price I got? 5 to 1 !! Yes, that's five to one so to think that an experienced business man like KM, who in general I have a lot of time for, should let that slime all Daniel Levy take his trousers down and shag him up the arse to that extent is almost unbelievable.

But have we learnt the lesson ? Think Aaron Ramsdale

UTB

The biggest embarrassment here is that any Blade could swallow that silly shit tweeted by the deluded Pig and put it on here. North Korea Talk will be pissing itsen.

Yes

I realise it's all a wind up by Wendy, but as i've stated on another thread, I actually think McGugan would be a good signing for us. He's obviously fallen out big time with Carlos, but he's still only 28, got lots of championship experience, and scores his fair share of goals. So if he'd come for the right money I trust CW to sort his attitude problem out.

United are missing a trick, need to get you on the scouting/coaching staff.

I'm very hit and miss,I thought Ainsley Harriot would come through from that side and have a good career with us,still it's not as bad as you wanting to saddle us with Stewart Downing is it,thank the Lord you ain't on our scouting/coaching staff

So if they were on the same wages, who would you rather have at the club Duffy or Downing?

I've never said we should break the bank to sign Downing, we can't afford him. I've only said that he's a good player who has had a good career and is better than what we currently have in his position.

Duffy every time over Downing,I'm so glad we can't afford Downings wages,we have been down the one last pay day route way to many times in the past,I am surprised at somebody like you who seems to find fault in everything United do,suggesting such a thing

Ignore it. Clearly a rumour started by a piggy and it demonstrates that they fear we will embarrass their over priced bunch of failures.

We have almost as much talent as they have but we have one thing in abundance that they lack, spirit and togetherness.

The Blades are coming.....

I'll leave it there mate, I ain't go to argue with someone who thinks Duffy is better than Downing. No doubt Sharp is better than Messi and Ronaldo in your world.
