Well I never thought I'd see Kells career end at Bramall Lane.

Cheers Eddie Hearn.

Hard luck Kel.
The better fighter won on the night, just hope Kel can get over that eye problem, I think psychological effects players major part tonight.
Never mind Kel, warm up fight with Kahn before you go over and bring the belt back eh!

God I'm gutted, I don't know where Kell goes from here, such a shame a fights been ruined by an eye again

He's an absolute fighter though, and the likes of Bellew and Eubank Jr need to get so far to fuck for calling him a quitter

Terrible end to a great night, now compounded by the fact I've got to wait an hour for a taxi home, and I've been awake since 3am, honestly on the verge of tears at this point for no reason other than sheer useless emotion

Khan still won't fight him cause he's an utter wet wipe

He did just say live on tv that he will In the summer, let's see.

I see it as no different to UFC when a fighter taps out. There's no shame in it. He pushed as far as he can go and if you can't see then you're just waiting to get knocked out.

We seem to have all of the top end athletes and celebrities from Sheffield who support us.

The only people I can think of who support Wednesday is that ginger bloke who used to be in Corrie and that cricket player.

Disappointing outcome obviously but I tell you what, Bramall Lane looked amazing as a venue for this.

Maybe we should schedule some stuff in the international breaks now we're back in the Championship, Wilder in the round, performing the Kops greatest hits.

Gutted for him but outclassed?? Wtf He was ahead going into the 7th and doing well neutralizing most of Spence's attacks until the eye went again. Not even the same eye that got injured in the Golovkin fight, he told Dom in the corner it had gone. Very brave of him to carry on and make it through to the 11th but it's the same story as the GGG fight. Might be the end. Needs to have a sit down and seriously think about his next move, his health should be the most important thing on his mind right now. Class fighter, heart of a lion but just too fragile. Well done Spence he's good but fuck sake it's just so dissapointing to see Kell go down to another injury.

The Lane looked stunning though wow.

The eye injuries will be the end of his career.

No point fighting Khan or whoever, the same problems will occur unless he takes people out in the first few rounds.

He was losing and well dont have red and white glasses on

So disappointing for Kell.still been a true boxer, never dodged anyone. Ground looked great, but the sound system they used was shit. Could not understand a word anyone said. Also shockingly the bars could not cope, missed out on a shed load of money there.

Yep. Had I not had Mrs M with me to worm her way to the front of the queue, I'd still be waiting to be served...

It's looking that way.:( He's on his way to the hospital right now so if it does comes out as another eye socket fracture it's probably over. Fuck Khan. He was saying pre fight on sky he had Kell's chances at 60/40 in favour to win just to put pressure on him and make him look bad if he lost. This despite backing Spence to win in every interview he'd done in the US. Oh how i'd love to see Kell put that glass jaw on his arse.

I got in when the doors open and had to explain to one of them that if they tilt the glass it won't foam up so much...

The one handling the till was asking what to press for two lagers.

anyone who says he gave up dont know anything & talking out of there arse. kell fought with 1 eye from rd7/8 & until when he bravely took a knee as he didnt know which one of the 2 or 3 errol spences in the ring to hit. what more do people want

absolutely gutted for him. still done us proud amazing warrior not only fought for 3 1/2rds with 1 eyebut still couldve won it at times rd 8 & 10. i agreeing Bunce on 5live as i had him tied 5-5 in rds going into rd11. but that eye seemingly let him down again. i might be wrong but with a 2nd surgery planned on the eye, ive seen Brook final fight. plain to see Golovkin in hindsight was stupid decision as it finished his career as thats twice now he fought well until his eye lets him down. i cant see how he ever can get confidence back in it

also sat in laver stand 98-02, family stand last 14yrs & away end for boxing. need see game on kop & ive got bramall lane bingo :D

I thought I was going to be the only one to mention it and get called a pig.

The bar I queued at they had apparently been told to dispense plastic bottles into plastic glasses which was taking forever.

Saw plenty of others walking round with plastic bottles so obviously not a universal policy.

It seemed to be impossible to buy an actual pint and I heard stories of people waiting two hours at the bar (possibly exaggerated but vaguely believable having seen and experienced the queues)

Could not hear a word of the announcements in the South Stand. Speakers didn't seem to be switched on.

Kell gave his all but beaten by a better man on the night. No shame in taking on two of the best in the world and not quite making the grade IMHO.

Sound was awful, I haven't a clue whether Buffer uttered any words let alone "beautiful downtown bramall lane" :(

Have to say agree with everyone saying Lane looked amazing but.. crowd was a bit of a let down during the fight, only got loud again when Kell's fate was already inevitable

Though quite hard to make a catchy chant out of his name admittedly

Queues were ridiculous and the sound system was shyte in the BL lower.
Kell fought well and seemed pretty even until his eye went.
Spence was very impressive.

Could not hear much in South Stand where I was, and took a while to get a taxi after!

I had Kell winning most of the rounds up to around round 7, but once I saw (on the big screen), his eye swelling, I knew it was a tough situation.

Finally home, some more thoughts

Spence is certainly a good fighter, maybe not quite up to the hype he's given mind you

There were a lot of times Kell was all over him but didn't press and let him off the hook

Spence also spent a lot of his time clinching whereas Kell is the type to take a beating until he can find a way to punch himself out of harms way - Kell would have done well to employ Spence's tactic, might not have taken the damage to the eye that he did, or at least to that severity

Fully believe Kell would have won that if his eye hadn't been mashed, even in the 10th/11th he unleashed some cracking combinations, Spence couldn't put him down, his chins too solid, unfortunately it appears his eye sockets may not be

It's just gutting because of what could have been, would have really opened up the big time for him

Really hope this isn't the end of Kell's career even if it is another broken socket, would be tough to come back from but this is the bloke who got stabbed and came back and ended up taking on the 2 toughest fights he could and putting in spirited performances for both even if they did end up in the wrong column

He's a fighter and I'm desperate for him to get the chance to wipe the smug smirk off Khan's face, and shatter his glass chin into smithereens

Possibly not exaggerated...i waited 90 mins to get beer in the Westfield corner...service was fucking appalling.

Sound system was absolutely shocking in the corner, couldn't make out a single word anyone was saying. I didn't even know about the minutes silence till I saw it mentioned in the shoutbox. The screens on the canopy were too small aswell, and the queues to get a beer were absolutely fucking ridiculous. We got in the ground about 7.30 so it was virtually empty, yet it still took me 45 minutes to get served. The people who were sat in front of us, who were later getting in, took 90 minutes to get served.
