When did your love for Wilder start?, what made you say this is the man for SUFC?

I think it was this interview that made me say yes he will sort shit out and get on with the job at hand and my hetero love for the man began.

His facial expression says enough before he really speaks.

He made all the right noises right from the off. I must admit, the first four games a little part of me was wondering if it was going to be too much for him to turn around. I was very wrong, he's done a fantastic job so far, everybody at the club seems to be buying in to what he wants us to be.

I'm guessing that you've allus been partial to a facial, elgoogs? ;)

True The Crab I just think for me I remember the Hammond situation hanging over him and was wondering how he would deal with it, and of course the answer was like a fucking champ!

I think PeteBlade has captured the moment in his avatar quite beautifully.
I like the bit where he says that he'd hope all players would want to play football, I think a not too subtle swipe at Hammond's decision.

It has to be said it is one of my favourite avatars on here.

I bet he "had a word" with him in private, as we all know how much SUFC means to Chris.

I'd bet he did, and I'd also bet those words were a lot harsher than he'd be able to make to the media!

I knew Wilder had the passion and a big axe, but four games in I thought "we've only gone and got another fuckin' Micky Adams".

Then Gillingham and him pounding the badge on his coat happened. That's when I began to believe.

I actually felt a little bit sorry for Adams. It's like what would happen if you gave me the job, make all the right noises, passion, etc. But when it came to the finer detail of actually managing the team, an abject failure.

CW is cut from a much different cloth, it's me but someone who knows what they are doing. Admirably backed up by Alan Knill.

Adams always seemed lost from day one, looked like he was as you say full of passion but just not up to the job, you could almost see the fear in his eyes.

It didn't take many interviews for me to think we've got the best man we possibly could have got.

We had a bad start but after that he made it far too easy for us to love him. His mentality, his beliefs and his approach all hit the spot perfectly and resonated with the fanbase, then in addition to that he demonstrated the sort of football intelligence that we've not seen in any other manager.

LOVE THE WILDER

You've got to have ability to go with the passion. I love planes for example, the giddy 6 year old in me would have loved to be a Pilot. But if I flew you it would end quickly, messily and lots of fire would be involved, because I have fuck all idea.

Awesome analogy The Crab and bang on.

Alarm bells rang when he complained about the number of telephone calls he had to make/receive

I remember him complaining about that and I thought what the fuck did he expect, not like he did not know the size of the club.

I think its when everybody's alarm bells began to ring and you thought this is only going one way!

I suppose having worked at Port Vale, he was more used to communicating via Telegraph than Telephone.

When he was there it was still on the smoke signals and they were limited by the coal provider to three communications per day.

Don't know. Sorry but I forgot to put it in my diary. Probably when he just started signing players, no media leaks, no fannying about, just got on with it. I hadn't heard of most of them but that in itself reminded me of Bassett so it didn't worry me. Quite the opposite tbh.

Met him and seen him a few times over the years round and about with his boys. There are people you meet through life that you don't know what is is about them, but they have it.

Spoken to many people who have met him and he's one of those who remembers you and knows your name (probably not mine) hes been doing well over the last few years building his stock in football and one of my mates is a big Northampton fans who repeats that he's still the same guy that most of his mates see.

That's when you know you have the man. He cares, no excuses, no geece!

Jury's still out for me!

Apart from winning the league, getting 100 points, getting billy to score 30/202 goals, uniting the fans, getting rid if the money grabbing journeymen, winning 30 games in one season, winning manager of the month a few times, getting 5 players written off into the team if the season.....

What's Wilder ever done for us?
