People need to accept that Ched Evans was the unfortunate victim of a miscarriage of justice, he is not a rapist, he was guilty of foolish infidelity, but were that a barr to a career in football, the Premier League would consist of about eight teams!

Saddo Jean Hatchet needs to find a new drum to bang, before she/he finds her/himself stood in the dock! :)

Bit more than foolish infidelity and I'm sure people will continue to have their own opinions on events.
Suspect he'll continue to carry a cloud over his head for quite a few and while hoping United do well next season, hoping we do well with other people scoring the goals.

Agreed, Chris Wilder isn't signing anyone that Chris Wilder doesn't want to sign.

He's earned that.

I don't believe for one minute Wilder said "ay up Kev let's sign Ched Evans". I do believe the conversation was more like... McCabe:"Chris .... We've done a deal to resign Ched Evans, you OK with that?"

This has got McCabe and one of his missions to correct an injustice written all of it

Personally I would suggest it was more along the lines of "If we could have the option of signing Ched Evans for 150k, would you be interested?"

And if anyone thinks that some bloke who's barely kicked a ball for 6 years and has spent most of the season injured is suddenly going to rock up like the messiah and bang in goals in a division where he'd not done before... then they're living in La La land.

Billy Sharp is our man. Captain, hero, Blade, wears his heart on his sleeve and is proven in the Championship

Power spent passion bespoils our soul receiver.

My favourite line by Jon Anderson. No idea what it fuckin' means though.

Back on topic, the big question is, what on earth is COME BACK CHED going to call himself now?
I'd have a stab and say that when we are impassioned with power rather than our truth, integrity and honest love, it cannot possibly fulfill our soul.;). Of course i could be wrong.

..well that's putting a very positive spin on a rather cagey welcome!

Compare that to what Wilder said when Clarke joined:

Wilder remarked: "We are delighted to secure his signature, we've worked hard to get Leon over the line.

"He is widely recognised as one of the top centre forwards in the division and he will complement what we already have in our strike force.

"We have youth, legs, ability, pace and experience and all can score goals. Leon is experienced and knows the division very well, he we will lead the line and the added bonuses are that he is a good character and still has the desire to achieve."

I think Wilder probably recognises the divisive nature of the whole business (Ched, rather than Leon) and has played a very straight bat, like the professional he is.

If I were Wilder I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. The moment Billy goes a couple of games without scoring, a large vocal minority will be baying to get their hero in the team regardless of how injured, unfit or just plain shit he now happens to be.

It doesn't take Einstein to figure out that could have a negative impact on the dressing room and the general happy atmosphere at the club these days.

This is a McCabe sympathy signing all day long

Hope that's the case...it'll all come out in the wash...o_O

I'm of the mind that Ched is a bit of a shady bugger for what happened but bloody hell people like this drive me nuts.

"I'm blind with rage" are you really love? You don't give a toss, you're just keeping up appearances on social media for attention.

If there is any of that shit . Wilder will fuck Evans off on loan .

Still some twist and turns with this one .

Evans , yep good signing , but Wilder pulls the strings not a squad player . What some fans think of Evans being the dogs bollocks , does not mean Wilder thinks the samev.

Whilst I agree with the last comment I think we should get behind the manager and the squad and hope Ched slips in without any fuss, he'll be wearing our colours and batting for the club. A court has found him innocent that should be good enough for anybody. The wronged party here is his life partner it's for her to forgive him or not, not us.
Does strike me as McCabe being called on to honour a promise nevertheless.

You've made your point - several times, let's move on shall we?

Already said i against not because im a any sort of feminsist he is more than welcome to play his football at any club & would have my full support. But not utd Mainly because he surfaces some memories of a horrible time for me. also as with statements hes hypocriteal& because of what he left behind in 2014 because of his actions utd fans who had done nothing wrong were guilty by assiocation through how the media hounding/scrinity portrayed us & no magic wand to make how i felt at that time feel better. But im going to keep to footballing matters because i dont ill just starting ranting & lets be honest their nothing that hasnt already been said in the last 3 years.

I dont see where he fits in our team. As he battling clarke hanson & lavery for a 2nd spot along billy. To be honest he behind them all in pecking order as all 3 have impressed when they have played in recent months espically clarke who last 6 weeks has almost outshone billy sharp. Some brilliantly taken goals v bradford & mk dons

Why take the gamble on this though. It makes no sense. Chances of him becoming the player he might have been 6 years ago look pretty remote to me... and let's face it he was probably playing out of his skin because it was a release on the pitch from all the stresses off it, he hardly looked interested when he didn't have a jail sentence hanging over his head

If some silly pricks start chanting that lasses name again and the tabloids get wind of it, then things aren't going to be pretty

I agree what you say about Billy, but should we lump all the responsibility on him ? It is a while since he played at that level and while we all want to see him thrive , he may not.We don't know yet.

With regard to Ched, I met and spoke with him at the friendly against Bury on his arrival. He is the kind of guy that looks you straight in the eye and speaks openly.Seemed a decent bloke to me.I reckon he will be fired up to prove his worth, Just like Billy when he returned for his third spell. He also had much to prove. If Ched can match Billy's season we are in for a treat.Again it's all conjecture.

With regard to La la land I doubt Chris is looking to sign any Teletubbies so perhaps we may leave the judgement to his superior experience and knowledge. He has managed to get the max from every squad member this past season.I suspect he looks into a persons eyes to see if a spark exists and I cannot imagine the two of them not having met first. Our manager is all about honesty and integrity which is why he can spot it in others it could be argued.

There's an old adage says "How can you be expected to soar like an Eagle , when you are led by a Turkey" Chris Wilder is no Turkey.

I am delighted Ched has been given this opportunity to shine again in Red and White stripes, so welcome back and well done United for playing it down and cracking on with the rest of the Jigsaw.Looking forward to its completion. What an awesome time to be a Blade.

I really don't see Ched causing any problem whatsoever.

I think the vast majority have moved on now and will just get on with it regardless of their views. The hysteria peaked a while ago. It will all go quiet in no time at all and he'll slot in with minimal fuss. There's now the whole of pre season for it to die down and other signings to overshadow it.

If there are any daft chants they won't continue for long.

Think he was playing for a move wasnt he ?letting his contract run down ,kind of backfired a bit though thst

I suspect you may be right on the football side of it but what's done is done. We've no control over what some idiots may chant but I wouldn't be too concerned over the tabloids, who takes 'em seriously anyway

Ha, i like it.

Chrissy Wilders Magic
He waves his magic wand
And if you give him Ched, he'll take us to the Prem
He'll score it with his left
He'll score it with his right
And when were on the pitch he'll score goals all night long
Ohhhhhhhhh
Gary Sinclair put this together & posted this on his FB page after the events of last Tuesday night................................................ ;)
Chrissie Wilder's Magic
He wears the Mayor's Hat
And when she take the chain from him
He nicks the f**ker back
He swing it to the left
He'll swing it to the right
And when he's on the town hall steps he'll sing this song all night

The sleazy cunt has signed and good luck to him in a Blades shirt.

If fit enough he will be good enough.

The board should've signed him for nothing when they had the chance, that is if they'd have had any bollocks about them.

I'm personally not convinced all parties were amicable with the signing, which could ultimately prove to be either a load of tosh or not matter anyway if he proves himself on the pitch meaning all will be forgotten. Just my two penneth.

I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do now. He is the best player I've seen us have in years when we last had him. Hopefully he'll be just as exciting.
