Please - let's not have talk of Brayford playing CB for us; have some of you forgotten that Cluffy seemed to think we didn't need specialist CB's or anyone over 5 foot 9?
We'll sign a lightning-fast winger, and I'm not talking about Che Adams.....

It never really worked for McNulty here. At times it could have been argued he deserved more of a chance/QUOTE]

He had enough of a chance over enough time to prove he wasn't good enough to progress to the Championship, no more needs to be said. Good luck to Scoogs because he always gave his all but it is a correct footballing decision to let him go.

No real surprises there, to be honest. The two I'm a bit more gutted about are Done and Scougall as I still believe there's a player there in each of them. Scougall arrived with real potential and Done scored for fun before and just after joining us. If they find the right team/system, I think they'll flourish.

Thanks to all for their efforts for the Blades.

Both have done a job for us but we have moved on . Done and Scougall are league 1 / 2 players and will do a job for lower league teams .
Sad when players are no longer required or surplus to requirements but that's football . If we don't move on or grow we stand still or go backwards . We have had 20 years of that .

Yes in league division one or lower.
I have a lot of time for Done , always gave 100%(as they should) but I done feel for him , not so much for Scougall as I think he went missing in games , maybe unfair but it's the way I see it .

Agree with that.
It's just that the winning way United play doesn't suit them.
We got better players in than Scougall to do the only job he could do...free role between Midfield and attack. But they could also perform other roles that scougall couldn't.

Done needs crosses into the box, he will work hard but he's a poacher IMHO. Not a great finisher but a player who has a knack of being there for the drop downs in the box and deflections off defenders, and can instinctively just hit the target.

I too wish them all well, and don't see any of them having a problem finding a club.

I thought so, I knew he had a clause but didn't think he would do a Hammond and sign it.

Bit harsh comparing Done to Hammond. Done played a part in getting us promotion, Hammond played a part in one of the worst seasons we've ever had. If needed next season Done could do a job and he would put all of his effort into it I'm sure.

Even then, Hammond only did what every single one of us on here would do.

Both players will not have a problem finding a club . The problem will be salary , length of contract . Our players are actually spoilt and perhaps don't realise how good life is at BDTBL until they have to move .

Yes, we have always been generous with wages and many of those lads will never get the money we have paid them again in their careers.
But I don't believe we have been so daft...when you look where they came from...Rochdale, and Scots second Div...they will have been on fairly low basic contracts. So although they will have got hefty wage rises I don't think it's huge in the scheme of things.

Both will fall back onto above average L1 wages elsewhere simply because they will have come from L1 champs. They will have a few clubs battling for their signature I reckon.

My guess....Scougs on 2k a week...Done on 4K. That would get them into every other team in the league IMHO

Out of the ones released McNulty is the one who has surprised me a little. I thought he would have been worth keeping for an extra year as a development player. By all accounts he has knuckled down this year and grown up a bit and the potential is there, just don't think for whatever reason it has worked out this year

Ah, the Runarounders still cling on to their shadow-chasing hero like barnacles on the bottom of a rusty old steamer.

I predicted six months ago what would happen to this mediocrity, to much derision from the intelligentsia on here. He'll now fade into lower League One or League Two obscurity, because that's where his ability will take him.

He's Done. Thank Pele.

All who have been listed/released aren't good enough for us. Simple.

None of them will struggle to find a club, even Hussey. He'll probably go back to Bury.

£400k Scougall and £600k on Done.
Utter madness.
Really stupid bit of business, in the era where when so many clubs had our trousers down.
More money pissed down the drain.
Good luck to them both as neither will ever get a better wage, or a bigger club.
Such is the reality of football, but both nowhere near good enough for the championship.
CW just about put a promotion side together for less than the cost of these two lightweights.

Come on pinchers, just appreciate that he didn't ever take the piss out of our club like so many players have done.

He played his part and although he didn't score no where near enough, plenty of knowledgeable people like Wilder appreciated what he did for us, especially in the first half of the season.

Shows how spirit improved in the club squad last season. Last summer squad spirit was close to rock bottom until Wilder arrived.

When McNulty was shifted out to Pompey last season wasn't it his best mate who called Sharp "Billy Big Bollocks" on Facebook? For McNulty to post this on social media now, even after he has left the club, shows how Wilder, Knill and Sharp transformed morale and it seems McNulty has total respect for Sharp now.
