EXACTLY!!

He's been proven innocent in a court of law and been back in Pro football for a season, but because it's Unted and there was uproar when we nearly signed him the bastards are going to try and crank it up again.

Headline story on Calendar FFS, and yet it'd hardly get a mention like you say if it was another club.

We need to stick together and if Wilder wants Evans back him 100% on this. There is absolutely no reason at all why we shouldn't sign him now, fook the media, fook the feminists and fook the Pigs! UTB!

Agreed, I'm really not that interested in the approval of the Star, RS, other fans and pious keyboard warriors.

A fairly neutral piece has gone up on the Guardian website. I imagine there will be some suitably hysterical opinion piece tomorrow from one of the sisters.

They'd rather create controversy regarding Sheffield United than have a Sheffield United Promotion special.
That's what I think is at the root of this. I can't see anything other than a malicious agenda. It wasn't 'breaking news, Sheffield United have told us this and you can tune in and listen to interviews about this AND the heroes of promotion' they just stated a rumour and sabotaged their own show about positive news that would have actually been interesting.

Common knowledge for a long while since January if truth be told Ched was coming why break it then.A lot of journalists knew this and quite a few fans from both sides too why break it today RADIO PIG. Just hope wilder is ok with it.

It's not Radio Sheff's fault Sheff Utd have decided to buy Ched Evans, it's Sheff Utd's.

If the club didn't want a shit storm they shouldn't have tried to re-sign him (again).

What a crap decision...

Why would Radio Sheffield have an agenda against United? They need listeners, why would they piss off a significant percentage of listeners?

Think this us just McCabe trying to honour past agreements can't see ched being up to our standard if I'm.honest
Hope I'm wrong

If we have re-signed him I would like to see him at a press conference underneath a banner saying

"Yes we've re-signed him and if anybody has a problem you can go and fuck yourselves"

With Justin Bieber singing it in the background

It doesn't matter what we're saying about the rights or wrongs of whether Radio Sheffield should run a story; this thread is about whether the station has burnt its bridges with the club.

And a lot of things seem to point towards the club being unhappy with how the station has handled this. The suggestion now coming out from Biggs (not to mention on fan forums) that the story has actually been at large amongst local journalists for several days, makes the decision of the station to 'break' it today at 4pm, odd to say the least.

If Biggs is right (and not just saying it because he's been scooped) then all the more reason for Radio Sheffield to run the story.
Journalists should report the news surely, not act as PR agencies.
Think it's unlikely though that lots of journalists knew about a big story and just sat on their hands waiting for someone else to run with it.

What's the fuss about. We're going to sign (maybe) a good striker for peanuts and he owes us. This has been engineered ever since his acquittal IMO right down to him signing new contract with chezzy to put funds back in their coffers. As I posted earlier, if he scores goals we'll all sing his name.

Nope, never sang his name once last time he played for us.

Home goals?

If this was all such a marvellous long-planned idea then, why not have him sign a pre-contract in January and have him join for nothing in the summer?

Alan Biggs seems to indicate in one of his tweets tonight that he's known about it for a while. I wonder whether he's just trying to look ITK or did know but held it back?

He's a self-publicist who ghost writes books for nonentities. A hack and a tosser who thinks himself a legend in his own postcode.

If it wasn't in the Yorkshire Post he won't have a clue.

I don't know why people are having a go at Radio Sheffield on this one. Any journo would jump on breaking this kind of story. It's what they do.

As we speak, that cunt Staton will be trawling this board and tonight's theme will be 'Apparently, there's some anger on the Sheffield United forums about our coverage of the Ched Evans story last night. Hey! We can only report the facts that we are given. I'm neutral. I don't support either Sheffield team. Right, next up is Mark the Pitsmoor Owl, followed by Vladimir the Moscow Owl and Chuck the Texas Owl...'

it was noticeable on RS last night the language used by owls fans , old wounds , can of worms , then the dig spoiliing a good time at sheff utd apart from the pitch invasions and flares
amazing how they forget them v wycombe invading the pitch and letting off blue flares

its all owls fan led , stirring it up
just treat it with the contempt it deserves

owls fans being moral ?
bribe taking tax avoiding , ground safety certificate avoiding woman beater employing twats

It's all about them. Radio Sheffield do not care about splitting the fans views on Ched. Even a few days before our promotion party v Chezzy. Listeners are all they care about as was proved last night. Could they have waited until after Sunday? Of course they could. Would the news have had less impact if released after the Chezzy game.? Again, yes. Neither United or Chezzy have released any news on this so it all comes down to Radio Sheffield wanting to break the news first. If anyone was ever in any doubt as to what this station stands for well take a good look. ROTTEN TO THE CORE!
