I'd like to see the club at least 5 - 10 times a season give the top tier of the Lane to school kids etc. I remember them doing that occasionally in the 90's and I'm sure some of those kids became Blades because of those freebies. Just a thought.

A general comment on The Lane atmosphere though. and I've said similar before. I've never known our fans being the typical 'party type'. I enjoyed Monday, a lot, as did plenty of others. But as an atmosphere, not a patch on the cup runs under Clough,, or past play-offs, or big games where we're clear underdogs. I think it just reflects the nature of us fans a bit. I thought the atmosphere vs Bolton was really good - as there was some bite to the fixture.

Regards Monday - the season was sewn up before kick-off, the game was sewn up before half time. We were excellent. Happy times, almost surreal. But not blood and thunder, no raw vain popping passion needed. I expect some of that will return next season when we're up against it.

I do encourage fans to try the Corner and BLUT.

Back in the 70s my dad always took us in the BL stand. Initially the terracing on the lower and later the seats in the upper. Games like the thrashing against Arsenal in the FA Cup were special events when he'd splash out on seats in the John Street/BL corner.

Then I switched to the Kop mainly, it would seem looking back, so I could chuck the bog rolls we nicked from the Hole in the Road onto the pitch. We had a bad season in the South Stand with the old bids. Then back to the Kop until 92 when I moved away.

Since then, when I come back I've been on the John Street until this season when I've started going in the BL/Cherry Street corner.

The view from there is the best in the ground. The atmosphere can be a bit flat if it's a dull game, but when the Kop gets going and the South Stand join in it's spine tingling.

So would I go back in the Upper Tier...? Only if the corner is sold out.

The atmosphere will increase next season with more away fans.

They will make noise but it won't be as loud on the BLLT (thanks goodness).

Just have to hope we get our MoJo back.

I'd possibly go up there if the atmosphere was better,as it's a great view, but for those who like to trade banter with away fans it's a bit weird not being able to see them.
My concern is,if people move off the Kop it would have an adverse effect on there...I'm a POTD man,so I go in different stands anyway, and nowadays I'm more for joining in when I can these days...maybe that's the problem...to many like me...it's upto the younger fans to take it on I suppose, but unlike us they can't just walk on to the middle of the Kop,JSWT or even H block and be in one concentrated area, and have to be strung along the back rows of the Kop and to the sides which makes it difficult.

92 in under 48 hours.

OK, I'll explain again.

This thread is solely to establish who would be willing to move to the upper tier to help improve the atmosphere.

Any 'No' votes would be irrelevant. You could get 10,000 'No' votes, it wouldn't stop 200 or so moving to the upper tier if they had the chance.

It goes without saying that most would vote no, for various reasons. This thread isn't to establish yes/no percentages, it's just a simple tally.

Nearly 100 now, that's probably more than I was expecting at this stage. As I said, most would bring somebody else with them, so that could be 150+ already. And this is without polling on Facechat or TweetSnap.

Sat there lots of times in the Prem season cos it was £5 student tickets! Would definitely consider sitting there again, the view is the best in the ground as has been indicated by many already, and if there were enough folk willing, I think the atmosphere could be decent up there. There's always the option of going back to the Kop so it's worth a go in my opinion.

I like the idea of creating an away game sort of experience at home games. That's exactly what it could be like in the BLUT if it really took off.

Are you advocating an 'ultras type section for large flags on poles and lots of singing and bouncing?, if so I might be tempted lol

I would sit in BLUT because it's a superior view. Not because it might enhance the atmosphere.
I feel the atmosphere at BL is a reciprocal thing.
If the team are playing well.....We respond.
If there's 3k away fans giving it large at the other end ......We respond.
If there's a big game with a lot riding on it......We respond.
In "atmosphere" terms, we've probably peaked to soon. I mean by the end of this memorable season, we'll have had 5 games to celebrate promotion at.
I loved the Northampton game and will be there to see my beloved Blades lift the trophy against Chezzy. But after my initial disappointment at not getting MK tickets, it soon dawned on me I didnt give a monkey's about missing out.
Rest assured. When the BL faithful see the first piece real silverware we've won in 35 years. The roof will come off the famous old place.

Can it get towards 150?
