It's not possible. If it were remotely possible, they should sack each other now and every other executive at the club.

It'll be a funny 2016/2017 season though, no management and only enough players for a five a side team.

On April Fools Day just take a look at this thread. What a difference a year makes. There are a few who will feel utter fools.

Read the lot if you have time but maybe just your own and reflect on what you were saying just over a year ago. It was easy to attack the owner and it was hard to defend him. Then read a few recent posts to see what you are saying now, log it and save it for a rainy day.:)

McCabe is in a 'different place' with the fans so soon afterwards.

I stick by each of my posts and feel some satisfaction about the whole scenario:cool::cool:

In the thread I commended Sean Thornton for his patience and detail and I also thanked The Bohemian and regret he doesn't post these days - come back we need quality, positive members!!

I miss Borbokisfreekick too plus WHF of course.

Always good to look back and learn from past actions. Maybe certain posters 'wanted KM out' last year and maybe they now 'want him in' !

P.S. Yes this is a bit 'pompous'.

Regardless of anything that's been posted (I haven't read it all) you have to agree with McCabe to some extent. We haven't had a lack of ambition have we? We've regularly had a high wage bill and McCabe has let managers bring in the players they want. The only reason we've been down here for long is through bad choices, not a lack of ambition.

So we are on the verge of promotion, the forum is united in enjoying the ride and you have to try and score points by dragging up this garbage from a year ago?

You said pompous, i ask why you key board warriors always need to make it about you?

You are not right, the people posting the opposite view are not right and the world is not black and white. McCabe has some good points and has done some good things for the club. Equally he has overseen the worst malaise in our history and made some appalling knee jerk decisions. He is not blameless.

I would suggest where we are today is far more to do with a Mr Wilder and a Mr Knill than Mr McCabe.

Can i suggest you stop picking fights and enjoy promotion, hopefully seeing us won something for the first time since the early Eighties. You will find life so much more pleasant and enjoyable.

This will be the first time in nigh on a decade we will finish in a higher league position than the previous one.

Each and every big club that has fallen to this level got out within three years max.

The club still sits lower in the pecking order than when he took over.

If he's not responsible for the carnage wrought since May 2009 then I fail to see how he's suddenly due all this current outbreak of genuflection. It's either all down to various shades of luck or it isn't.

We're finally on an upward trajectory and I'm as thankful as everyone else for that but I'm sure Kev himself will say it's a team effort. Lots still to be done as again I'm sure he would recognise himself.

You can only succeed by learning from past mistakes. One thing I will say is that I believe he will and that we will soon once again be punching our weight. Then I can join in the plaudits threads.

Onwards.

Totally agree with this.

Why do some people have a desperate need to be perceived as being right? I feel sorry for these kinds of people.

You'll notice these guys will always dig up old posts they think show them in a good light and never acknowledge the posts where they were wrong, usually calling anyone who points this out a troll.

I've been wrong countless times, no idea why people see it as such a big deal.

Time a few others transitioned into this way of thinking too I think.

Indeed. Only this week one poster has been crowing about how he wasn't worried after Southend and knew it would be okay. The same poster was advocating dropping Sharp until mid December, but you don't hear so much from him about that.

McCabe has made some mistakes in the past, and I doubt any were made intentionally.

He has also made some good decisions.

Some on here find it easy to throw vitriol about, but show little contrition when things go well.

What some also don't say/write is how much we could have been in the shit WITHOUT McCabe in charge.

Admitted, the 6 years have been crap - it could, IMHO, have been worse without a Blade in charge.

I don't particularly like threads being bumped and Woody is being a bit mischievous here, but some of the vitriol in the past to McCabe has been disgraceful.

UTB - onwards and upwards

What a barrowload of shit.

WWF - there are plenty of examples of your disappearance when we've gone arse over tit, and you cannot and should not ever attribute this season's success to McCabe. The only, sole thing he has done right this season is appoint Wilder, this after a disastrous catalogue of appointments, some who went on to manage teams in the higher divisions. What does that say? The only other saving grace is that McCabe has realized that had he sold key players in the JTW 'to pay wages' (or whatever), the fucking club would have burned to the ground. He knows that fantastically well. If you have any credibility you'll look at the last ten seasons as a balance sheet. Look at what we have lost and what we have gained as a club and run across the top of it an equational constant of football supporters, both attendees and exiles, who have 'kept the faith' both in the club and in football and see where credit is due. Simply because he made yet another (this time correct) appointment and didn't sell his on field talent doesn't make McCabe Jesus Christ incarnate to me. It simply say he is learning. He acknowledges expectations and seems to be finally committing to the upward ambition we all share, after crashing out in the playoff final (because we were grossly understrength), being beaten by fucking Yeovil (who went up), finishing seventh, crashing out to Swindon in the most ridiculous manner, and then finishing eleventh. Through that time, five managers and a fucktonne of wasted money ... big, fat, wasted money. Don't give me 'let's doff our hats to McCabe'. My balance sheet will be evens if we go up as champions and next season beat the shit at S6 in both games and finish above them (preferably in the top half of the division), having signed five or six very capable replacements at Championship level to augment the talent we have and not succumbed to any devisive 'we couldn't stop him going' bullshit.

Feel free to dig this out next April and ask me how I feel about McCabe then. Quite happy to say I am satisfied with his presence in the club and he is doing well. We have a significant uplift in consistent gate sizes to look forward to and more revenue from TV/Media. It's how this is reinvested to consolidate which indicates this man's capability. And of course, the promised Championship investment we heard him say he and HRH would push the way of the club.

Personally, I don't judge our success on what we do against Wednesday.

That deserves a quoted like on top of an actual one Raul.

Definitive post on the McCabes at this moment in time.

But if we're being honest, it wasn't an April Fool until you started getting stick.

Besides, isn't this a shark attack?
t s

I knew somebody with no humour or imagination would say that, too dry, but at least you weren't caught yourself Barney. Of course I never expected 'stick' for it did I?

I posted it at 7.57am April Fool's morning, even mentioned April Fool's day just so you would know I knew what day it was. I did mean what I said about Bohemian, WHF and Borbokis though.

I had planned Flounce 2 but I thought that was too obvious, perhaps not:).

'Shark Attacks' have finished until further notice by the way. You may have noticed I'm acting 'free as a bird', I'm back to normal enjoying S2 4SU, full of humour and the joys of spring. Enjoy!!

I believe you but who Revs? Anything to do with this thread?

Agree with a lot of that but was it a 'team effort' when we were struggling? I don't think so. It's 'tough at the top'.

Me neither. But given the last time we went head to head (and it was disappointing) I'd say it is a gauge of how far we have come being as they rather effortlessly glided past us in a humiliating manner some years ago.

What, so everyone else saying you're talking out of your hoop was 'a damp squib'?

Seems like business as usual to me, 01 Apr or not.

Whatever Pommps. Act like a 'kipper' mate on this occasion.

Maybe Woodwardfan would enjoy it if we dug out his Clough Dynasty posts?

Rodders. Think about this reply. I am looking to tag on to any sort of success for my club.

Yes I have been guilty of giving too many managers benefit of the doubt, all in the interest of the elusive 'continuity', but truth is I lost faith in certain managers as soon as they started signing players.

Wilder has changed that. I've always loved the man. I watched his team at Halifax just because I love the man so much. He was sat with his mates near us at Wrexham in a league cup midweek match so many years ago when he was injured.

Being a Blade is as big as Wilder is. Nobody else has measured up for years and years. Only three managers have done so since I started watching in 1956. It's now FOUR, with a bit to prove yet at the next level. All the ingredients are there tough.
