Somebody had to say it and it is hardly over zealous in reaction is it?
The main thing is that the weathered the storm and thankfully more true to our character, we found that extra gear again and did enough to put ourselves back in front and see em off.
But again we have to be true to ourselves and it wasn't our best performance. We hesitated at times and we looked a bit flappy on occasions....we also gave possession away a few times as well and that simply isn't good enough!... Had we not won the penalty then maybe we would all be a little more over critical in our appraisal of the game?
Flipping the coin and being a little more realistic, you have to say that what we have achieved in the last week and a half was no mild feat. We have ridden out three very tough away games on the trot and in the process we have picked up 7 points from a possible 9 (should have been 9), scoring a decent 10 goals in the process. We didn't expect and are rightly disappointed to have conceded 7 considering how solid we have been at the back prior to this run but never the less if you hit the back of the opponents net more than they hit yours......you have to take the three points at this stage of the season and run.
The next three home games are vital now in easing the pressure a little bit. We've weathered the storm and picking up as close to maximum from the next 4 games will see us a long way towards our goal!
We've got the points boys but we can't switch off!!.........Another confidence booster tonight with 4 goals, 3 points and all from an off par performance, surely a clear light of what we can achieve when running at full steam!
On to the next one.....One by one, whittling them away and picking up that 2 point average or better!!!
And....And.....The incentive is still there because Billy still needs those 2 goals, kind of weird to score 4 without with on the scoresheet!.....We all know he will get them because that is what he is all about. But it keeps him on his toes with a little added to play for!
