Somebody had to say it and it is hardly over zealous in reaction is it?

The main thing is that the weathered the storm and thankfully more true to our character, we found that extra gear again and did enough to put ourselves back in front and see em off.

But again we have to be true to ourselves and it wasn't our best performance. We hesitated at times and we looked a bit flappy on occasions....we also gave possession away a few times as well and that simply isn't good enough!... Had we not won the penalty then maybe we would all be a little more over critical in our appraisal of the game?

Flipping the coin and being a little more realistic, you have to say that what we have achieved in the last week and a half was no mild feat. We have ridden out three very tough away games on the trot and in the process we have picked up 7 points from a possible 9 (should have been 9), scoring a decent 10 goals in the process. We didn't expect and are rightly disappointed to have conceded 7 considering how solid we have been at the back prior to this run but never the less if you hit the back of the opponents net more than they hit yours......you have to take the three points at this stage of the season and run.

The next three home games are vital now in easing the pressure a little bit. We've weathered the storm and picking up as close to maximum from the next 4 games will see us a long way towards our goal!

We've got the points boys but we can't switch off!!.........Another confidence booster tonight with 4 goals, 3 points and all from an off par performance, surely a clear light of what we can achieve when running at full steam!

On to the next one.....One by one, whittling them away and picking up that 2 point average or better!!!

And....And.....The incentive is still there because Billy still needs those 2 goals, kind of weird to score 4 without with on the scoresheet!.....We all know he will get them because that is what he is all about. But it keeps him on his toes with a little added to play for!

I'm not too worried by how many we concede as much as the nature of some of the goals. We concede a lot of sloppy ones, like the Gillingham home game, and it's the obvious thing for us to improve upon. However, we score plenty, our form is good, the gap remains, and we can move on to the next match full of confidence again knowing that even missing two players as important as Wright and Duffy has done nothing to prevent us getting another routine victory.

Well said mate.....too many whining voices on the shoutbox tonight. If we'd been told it'd end up 2-4 we'd have jumped at that result. Well don the Blades, great result - 1889 incredible! - We won without Wright, a new record! Never mind the chasing pack, we're doing brilliantly! UTMB

scored 4 at the lane and he didn't score then either

We've not looked right since the Bolton game but fortunately lady luck is smiling on us ( long may it last ) with the 3 lucky goals at Oxford and the 2 give aways tonight. The all out attacking game we play leaves us open at the back and we will concede goals but so long as we score more than we concede we will be ok. I'm really worried that our performances in the first 10 mins of the second half where we just seem to fall apart are happening to often. Still one more game to chalk off, just wish Bolton and Fleetwood would let go of our coat tails though.

Well battled tonight Blades, 9 to go and Charlton will be tough, hopefully Duffy will be back and I'd start Hanson also....

UTB!

A lot of posters before the match warned that Swindon had decent attacking players who were capable of scoring. Therefore it shouldn't be a huge surprise that we conceded and it sounded like the first was a beauty. The concern is these little spells we occasionally have at the start of the second half where we seem to switch off; Gilligham, Scunny and tonight all being examples.
Hopefully this won't happen again, and with the fixtures we have coming up I would expect better concentration.

On a more positive note we rode it out tonight and won handsomely in the end. 3 more points and on we go.

It's United, if there wasn't drama it wouldn't seem right would it!!?!!
Although when we came out second half, I think the players were expecting Swindons heads to have dropped and didn't expect the fightback, we took our foot of the gas and it cost us a 2 goal lead n set off a few squeaky bums!!
But, we regrouped n knuckled down and our strength got us over the line.
We need to keep the pressure on now, no mistakes, let's get over the line boys.
Our rivals all put in a shift tonight so it's a good thing we won, it seems Bolton have found a second wind with 8 goals in 2 games!! good job we played them last week!!
Anyway, get the iron out Chris,we don't need those creases showing for the last 9!!

BDTBL satdy n 3 more points!
COYRAWW!

I think that the wonder goal straight after the break, knocked the wind up an already nervous set of players. We shouldn't have been so tentative with a 2-0 lead however for whatever reason (possibly the way we lost 2 points at Rochdale), we still had the jitters about us.......The appeared to last longer than we would have liked and wasn't helped by the catching us on a wobble and equalising.

The main thing it that we have this new found resilience that we have lacked in a good few seasons. Beneath all of the jitters that we allowed to come to the same, we still have this confident set of lads who know that our two front lines are the best in this league.....We have the individual quality to hit the back of the net even when we aren't at our best.

Bearing in mind Swindon are fighting to avoid the drop they were never going to make it easy for us. We've got the 3 points though and that's all that matters. We move on to the next game now.

Be interested to know the stat of how many goals we have conceded between 45-60 mins. It feels around 80%. Tufty needs to stop kidding himself that this isn't a problem. Well actually it's not right now but it might be!

Personally I think the difference is we have more gears than anyone in our division. We can step it up when needed which is why j wasn't overly worried when they drew level.

No don't say it
You're not allowed to

Stating the glaringly obvious is not being concerned it's negativity

League Ones worst can score at will against us but we have more upfront than they do so we get away with it

I'm all for winning every game 5-4 if we go all out attack Kevin Keegan style

But the goals we concede are not as a result of trying to batter teams

They come as a result of us getting two goals in front and then tossing it off, and we're going to get a confidence stripping 3-2 defeat after being 2-0 up one of these days

If 'not looking right' means we play three away games on the bounce scoring 10 goals and getting 7 points when many said they would have happy wilh 4 I'll drink to that.
