I don't like Barnsley but I'm not really bothered if they're laughing at us right now, so is every one of our local rivals, its just a comparison that its early days. Gillingham looked really promising in their early form last season and they faded to 10th ish and entirely missed out on the play offs. We're all gutted mate, its the worst start for a few seasons but unlike under Weir when we were under a rookie manager who seemed to be clueless we have a manager who's seen it and done it and in my view has signed some decent players who are just under performing right now playing with little confidence. It just goes to show how important it is to win one of the early games and when you don't the pressure builds.

Actually without going into the petty bollocks you read on here I watched you lot yesterday at Town. You have a decent side and I wish you well. Just shows what I bit of investment into the right areas can get you. Some good young players coming through as well.

Never had any issue with Barnsley, Donny or Rotherham. Don't blame them for a minute for enjoying their positions (Donny apart) because it magnifies how pathetically poor we are.

The issue they will have is next season, when there are 46 games to go, and not 9 as there is now. They know today that they are safe.

They could do a Rotherham next season - I expect them to, unless they can find some decent players who want small wages.

Barnsley went up with a team put together in the 3rd tier, which is where they will end up once again.

The Championship is all about finance at the end of the day - remains to be seen whether our two benefactors come up with the goods. Chansiri will stop funding our S6 neighbours eventually just as the Bolton , Villa, Sunderland etc benefactors did. It is absolutely vital we hang on to CW & AK - they appear to offer us a slightly different approach to just chucking bucket loads of money at the problem which only appears to end in failure and fan despair.

What we do need as a partner for Billy - if he hadn't had to learn how to play with 4 different strikers this season, he'd be on 36 goals not the 26 he is already on.

The Championship is new territory for our management team as fans, we are certainly have to be patient.

Barnsley showed if the application is good you dont need millions to estabalish yourself in the championship. We have plenty of championship experience within the current squad some have had years in there .
Barnsley will struggle if they keep selling key players in numbers.
You will lose the odd player to ambition , but to lose 2 or 3 at once can have long term consequences

I'm not sure we'll find a partner for Billy. We've tried a few different types and non have gelled with him perfectly. He wants someone to do what Creswell did for Evans. I don't think many are prepared to do that.

I'm not convinced we'll be playing two up front either.

If we go up, it's going to be very interesting to see how we go about our business. I think we may be surprised.
