Didn't our cup run with clough part fund the desso, remember reading that somewhere.

No,pay attention please,we sold Jamie Murphy to pay for the initial Desso outlay, and Mark Duffy in January to finish paying for the waste of a time Desso,I know these things because I have read it on here,in very short sentences, with a large helping of full stops to ensure we all got the message

We do have the best home record in the Division and , reading between the lines , the gaffer seems to prefer the sumptuous and dependable Desso .

But , if the rumours are true and we had to sell Murphy , Maguire , DCL , Che Adams and Ramsdale to pay for it is it REALLY worth it ?

Yes it's worth it.

I stand corrected,......... I think:confused:

A muddy never stopped the likes of Woodward and Currie playing superb football in fact the better and more skilled the player the more likely they are to master the conditions much better than the cloggers.
Oh and btw we are the best away team in league one too

So your point is our super skilled footballers wouldn't be the best away team if other teams had better pitches ? We wouldn't have scored more etc. I take your point and I assign it appropriate value.

Its a great point Metal raises . We ARE the best in the League away from home aswell . Though that could of course be countered by the fact that whilst we have conceded just 10 goals at home weve conceded 27 away from home ! Maybe thats down to the ball bobbling much more at away matches due to the state of the pitch .

Not at all that is your idea. I suggest you look at the stats .................... read em and weep, btw we lost twice at Bolton they too have a Desso pitch.

What sort of pitch do you prefer us to play on?

No preference to be honest the pitch is the same for both teams good or bad. Coventry have a Xtra Grass pitch claimed to be better than a Desso but it sure isn't giving them a points boost far from it.

Metal
So any old bumpy mud heap would be fine with you? What about spending on things other than players eg the facilities for spectators, the academy etc. Not in favour of that?

Like I said before no answer to the stats eh. Bert should try to keep on subject and debate the points and not slag off other posters which seems to be the way for the gang of four.

Fairly simple questions which you are unable to answer.

I can remember you posting we are going to Emulate Blackpool,
WOW does that mean we are closer to finding a cure for Demetia?

We are debating about the Desso nothing else, not the facilities or the academy. It would seem like Bert has no answer as to why we are doing so well on non Desso pitches.
btw we have lost twice on standard pitches this season four times on Desso pitches.

We had a bad pitch so we bought a new one. Other clubs did not necessarily need a new pitch because their pitches were not in as bad a condition as ours. You are assuming that all non Desso pitches are mud heaps.

When improvements are inevitably made to BDTBL and if its decided to rotate the pitch 90 degrees then a second installation for a Desso will have to be made. Wohoooooooo!!!! :p

So because I got the places where Simon Webster and Brian Smith broke their legs mixed up,I am suffering from dementia, classy from you that,I do hope you never know anybody who suffers from that awful, horrible disease,

Emulate Blackpool,chortle chortle

Why is the Desso such a big deal? Of all the talking points, genuinely don't understand why it draws such ire from certain fans. It looks great, facilitates good football, means games aren't postponed, players love playing on it. What's the issue?

It's another way to attack Kevin McCabe

Ok, come on lads, I love a good joke as much as the next Blade, but can't we just lay this Desso to rest?

Indeed - it's gone beyond pathetic.

UTB

Its actually a fascinating debate ...... seriously .

It goes to the very heart of what individual Blades believe is the right , or wrong way to run our Football Club .

Should ALL available cash be used to strengthen the playing side ?

What about facilities for us fans ? What about the Academy ? And yes , what about the pitch ? Are they worthwhile investments or is it money that should all go towards the playing side ? Afterall , its what happens on the pitch thats the sole arbeiter of success isnt it ?

Personally speaking , i am forced to concede that if we judge McCabe on whats happening on the field of play only , then his tenure , at this particular moment in time , has been a failure as he took over in the Championship and we are now League 1 .

Is this really a full and fair assessment of his tenure though ? What about the ground , its better now than its ever been . The facilities are better than they've ever been ( Kop aside , though i reckon theres movement afoot to rectify this ) . The Academy continues to provide first class training facilities for the first team whilst at the same time producing a steady crop of talented youngsters .

Lets not forget the playing side aswell . If we are promoted this season , bearing in mind McCabe took over the Club in the Championship , with all of the ' off field ' improvements indicated above mean we are all forced to concede that at the very worst McCabes tenure has been ' steady ' .
