We do have the best home record in the Division and , reading between the lines , the gaffer seems to prefer the sumptuous and dependable Desso .

But , if the rumours are true and we had to sell Murphy , Maguire , DCL , Che Adams and Ramsdale to pay for it is it REALLY worth it ?

Propaganda that on selling players . It will come into its own in the championship . Mud heaps are in the past .

It is self financing and now we are a real footballing side , is worth a number of points , like a good goalkeeper and striker .

A tick for me .

If only someone had done this before. If only there were a thread by a long time poster about the Desso pitch. I mean, you could have posted it there and saved everyone the time of repeating past arguments.

Except he couldn't :)

We are enjoying better football that anytime we did without the pitch and with those players mentioned

Dont you think though that if we'd have kept all the players we were forced to sell to pay for it we could have got to the Championship and then had it installed ? Or would installing it even though we were in the Championship lead to further player sales and relegation ?

Is having the best playing surface its possible to have really advantageous anyway ? Or are we just ' levelling the playing surface ' and allowing the opposition the same advantage as ourselves . How about a quagmire at the Lane that we get used to but away teams really struggle on ?

Its a tough call to make for sure

I just feel sorry for the groundsman, who probably lost his job once we got the new pretend pitch that hardly needs any maintenance.

Logic from absurd premises can lead to all sorts of exciting conclusions.

No its a no brainer if you have a good team that plays on the floor like we now do its worth 6 to 10 points a season. Im dreading going to oldham and having to find a way to beat them when you cannot pass a football!

A muddy never stopped the likes of Woodward and Currie playing superb football in fact the better and more skilled the player the more likely they are to master the conditions much better than the cloggers.
Oh and btw we are the best away team in league one too

I think the Charlton cup game was close to being called off due to the state of the pitch in the south west corner. That probably triggered the Desso pitch decision. If you look at Oxford away, the pitch influenced our team selection with Carruthers on the bench rather than starting and Bristol away was another game where we struggled to get the passes flowing. It's definitely helping our football at home and reduces the chance of postponements.

Ooooo look, one of them is here, just waiting for The Captain and his cabin boy Barney now.

I think Bert has no answer to the stats that say we are doing better away (that is 4pts better than the team in 2nd) and is waffling as ever.
