I reckon he'll be better than both!
By `sinking to his level`, I obviously meant the level he was managing at, not a slur on Chris.

The man is on his way to becoming a Blades legend, and the buzz on matchdays is something I had long forgotten.

It is going to be an emotional day for me, if (still cautious) we get promoted, the hurt has worsened with every passing year,
with my worse feeling driving back from Yeovil after a Tue 1-0 loss, and last seasons 1-0 defeat at Bury.

It has been hard to see a way out, and keep positive, but as the finishing line approaches, we can dare to dream.

UTB & Thank you for Chris Wilder.

To be fair to me (someone has to be) I very quickly and comprehensively revised that opinion and posted accordingly. I can't be bothered to find it but it's there and, which is more, I've since backed him with as much enthusiasm as anyone. Indeed, much greater enthusiasm than some Bladey types who were counting on him being a long ball merchant and thus restoring their Comfort Upanatem Neanderthal Tossers Zone. It spells what? My word! That's a co-incidence. Hadn't spotted that!

The underlying facts that led to my erroneous conclusion were substantially correct, though. However, I had underestimated what he achieved at Northampton and, not being hugely interested in League two, had wrongly assumed that his Northampton team must be hoofing it.

What about the seven "likes" I got! Where are they now in my hour of need?....

Davy Weir's Red and White Army....

What a long winded way of saying "I was totally wrong".

As an aside, will the very prominent people patting themselves on the back for this thread also link the threads where they completely slagged off his signings such as Duffy?

Not your best effort.
Never mind. We are where we are and that's a pretty encouraging place.

Yes, I'm not entirely satisfied with it myself, but for every Hamlet there's a Measure for Measure; For every Great Expectations a Barnaby Rudge; For every competent midfielder a Montgomery...

I wanted to keep Adkins, though thankfully not on this thread and not because of his golden CV, but because I didn't think sacking another manager was right.
How fucking wrong was I? Best decision this board has taken in many a year.

In fairness they well overdue one.

Same here .......... until about 20 minutes into the Scunny game. Then he had to go.

No ifs, no buts, he had lost the team that day, the fans months before and I could see no possible reason why 2016/17 would be any better.

To be fair I was concerned that we were getting rid of Adkins too quickly and that Wilder would turn out to be Micky Adams2, luckily I didn't post that :)

No. Grappler did!

So we are going to pay off Nigel Adkins, on top of paying off Nigel Clough and Danny Wilson? No wonder we have no money for new players!!!!

Can't see this happening, it has "Mickey Adams mark 2" all over it

Soz, Phil. Couldn't resist.:D

Disagree. Chris Wilder has a lot of attributes needed to be a successful manager. It's often the not so known managers that thrive in this division. He'd be very suited to what we want and what we're trying to achieve, particularly in the summer. I'd be delighted if we got him in, first step is to get rid of Adkins though, which as you mention will probably only happen if he resigns or there's some sort of mutual agreement to part ways. It'd definitely be a step in the right direction.

A truly visionary post

Maybe you could bear that in mind in future whilst pontificating from your self-assumed position of infallibility on all matters football?

Ultimately we've all made fuck up predictions. Some were ecstatic at the Hammond signing. Some saw great things for George Long. I recall one poster now on here ecstatic over David Weir. Can't think who that was;)
All that matters is we are moving very nicely in the right direction and let's be honest,if everyone agreed with everyone there'd be fuck all to talk about.
Even so, this is good stuff.

Heck, I'm going into bat for Pinchy again! I remember the mea culpa and was going to mention it in this thread but he's saved me the bother. The only disappointing thing is that I was also going to say I had no idea where it could be found, but it does exist!

Now, about that lift Pinchy ...
