One tickled me though, he was a small guy who resembled Tattoo from Fantasy Island, when one of theirs mentioned the BBC, he thought it was a swingers club.

I think the problems with Premiership refs dropping to League One are twofold...

Firstly because they're not used to the slightly more physical nature of the league they tend to give fouls that wouldn't get given by a ref more used to this level - so they seem picky.

Secondly, and conversely, they seem to let some fouls go that they'd normally give because they think they have to let a few go at this level (or give yellow cards that would be red in the poem - like Van Veen on Saturday) so they just end up looking incompetent or inconsistent or both.

I do think Jones fell into both of these traps on Saturday.

I also think Mike Dean reffing this weekend increases the chances of a red card - just hope it's for that lanky pig up front for them.

I didn’t think it was handball? Thought he dragged the chief down on the edge of the box when he had an empty net. Outrageous decision not to send him off.
