With the money that's about these days I wondered where our players live. I was looking at some old pics and remembered I used to live next door but one, to a guy called Jeff Johnson. He lived in a detached house and we lived in a semi on Dale Rd, Dronfield. This would be around 1978. This guy played for the "Massive", but he was a really nice guy. His missus was from Bolton I think, and he was Welsh. According to Wiki he was at some stage a taxi driver in Manchester, so he clearly never made the millions available these days. In the old days you had made it if you bought a pub. I think a number of our ex-players did this. I also was on a course in the early 90's for a financial services company, there I met David Fairclough. He was commonly known as super-sub in his Liverpool days. He was another smashing chap. So whats the norm these days? Clearly we don't need too much detail, although I guess Dore and Whirlow might figure. :)

There were loads of professional players that I knew that lived in Dronfield, the list would be too long for me to name them! As for the current Blades players I only know Jake Wright now lives in Dronfield

Last I heard, McNulty lived in Bents Green and Brayford just off Fulwood Road.

Quinn and Tonge used to live in Crosspool before both moved on (to fatter contracts).

Humble brag but I recently just moved from the apartments on Napier street (opposite Bramall Lane Waitrose).

You would frequently see the likes of Harrison McGahey, Che Adams and more recently Jay O'Shea. A certain Vincent Sasso (Wednesday player) recently moved in after living at the Jurys Inn on Arundel Gate for a while after his transfer to the pigs. Fun fact, McGahey clearly didn't settle his council tax before he moved because there were numerous council letters in the foray.

Caught fairly large groups of them coming into the building in United training gear but couldn't identify anyone else.

A few ex pigs live up Dore and frequent the shithole of the 2 pubs there.

I now Leon has a flat on West Bar ,when I grew up on Bannerdale ,Badger Hockey and Dearden all lived within a couple of hundred yards of us.
TC lives near me in Worksop but don't know exactly and Ian Bennett has a massive pad in Worksop. Bradders lives top end of Killamarsh.

Badger lived in Dronfield in the 1970s and is now back living in Dronfield . TC lived in Dronfield too as did John Hope. Hemsley has been living in Dronfield for a long time (not sure if he still does)

Tony Currie was my grandma's next door neighbour, in Worksop. Quite friendly if I remember right.

Can't remember the road name but it was a quiet culdesac and their houses where at the very end.

Ritchie Humphreys used to live near us at Oughtibridge, dunno if he still does.

Colin Addison lived on Rosamund Drive, Bradway as did Peter Rodriguez. People say Rodriguez was a nice guy, Colin certainly was a top bloke.

John Tudor told me he lived in Todwick when he was our player. I think Eddie Colquhoun lived there too

So did Gerry Summers and the original Hodgy (Mrs ISC was friends with Hodgy's daughter). He moved to Rugby when he was a goalkeeping coach and we dropped in once for a cuppa. Nice bloke and he still had an interest in SUFC.

Eddie Colquhoun had a car spares shop on Dinno Main Street, imaginatively called 'Eddie Colquhoun's Car Spares'. Most Unitedites were too in awe to go in, but a few cheeky piggies would knock and run.

Colin Morris lived in South Anston and I used to deliver his milk on a Saturday in the early 80s. Sadly I am unable to think of any poor milk related pun.

Was he ever sour?

To call the Dev or the Hare and Hounds shit holes is the most inaccurate comment I have ever heard!
