Its coming,....the midfield has lost its way, the defence has lost its mind and Wilder has lost his nerve, witnesses the even earlier panic of putting EEL up top tonight.,

By 50 minutes into the Wimbledon game we will be firing howitzers up there hoping Sharp can get on the end of a Hanson flick on. Soon even Pinchy will be looking back on the front two of Sharp and Done as some sort of golden age.

I can not believe how it's fallen apart so quickly... gutted. :(
 



I went as soon as the second went in so missed the chance to see EEL embarrassing himself upfront again, perhaps Wilder wanted him as far away from our goal as possible, can we tell Wolves we have changed our mind?

I agree about the way The tactics are looking like they are going to go, 4-4-2 and hit the big man as much as possible.

Although the Gerrrit forward brigade may actually think it's a good idea.

So the Plan B is hoof it long to Hanson and hope a packed defence can't stop a flick on?
 
If we'd play the team from our earlier great runs, and add Hanson for the last thirty in home games - we win the league.

Not sure how we can miss someone who has never played for us but agree he would have been very effective today - we're missing him before he's even played a game!

sarcasm aimed at the ones that say we don't need him. Clearly we do.

I don't see us resorting to hoof as some kind of default tactic but at least we can start mixing it up a bit more. Hanson is much better playing on the deck than people give him credit for and might actually give us a cat in hell's chance of putting a head onto one of our crosses.

I am actually quite looking forward to it.

So who does the running for Hanson? Sharp?

However it works I think Sharp will thrive off Hanson's presence and vice versa. They are both experienced strikers and will figure it out.

It can't be any worse than the slow sideways and backwards passing we saw today. We barely created a chance and wouldn't have scored had we played all night. It was as if fkin Clough was back in charge.
 
Tonight we were absolutley crying out for Hason. Fleetwood did a number on us to their credit. We couldnt get through or around them and we had no way at all of changing our approach. We just ended up shuffling deck chairs.

He would have to have been eight foot four to get on the end of some of the crosses tonight.

Look.. no one admires what Bassett did here more than me but he geared his entire side from the summer pre season to play to the strengths of Brian Deane. This squad will slide even further even quicker if we suddenly adopt a long ball game.

Horses for courses. Dont think anybody is advocating it as the default approach but tonight was an absolute case of 'when needs must' - thankfully our manager thinks likewise. Thats why he signed a battering ram for when the doors locked.

And the Bassett side was 30 years ago against sides who trained on beer and chips and were knacked by 60 minutes with only one sub to bring on.

It won't work today.
 
Tonight was indeed crying out for Hanson.

When you're not getting in good attacking positions and have to put hopeful crosses in as we did, then it would help massively to have someone taller than 5"9 in the box.

He will go straight into the team. But we won't start hoofing as plan A.

Aye, a few teams are doing numbers on us of late - it's almost like we've been sussed out............

Agree - for how long did we continually pump balls up front to Duffy / McNulty / Sharp / Lavery, against their giant defenders ? baffling...
 



I wonder if Fleetwood would consider a bid for their big centre back in the next week? He looked exactly what we need, I don't think even Hanson would have got much change from him tonight. MOTM.
