James Wallace - contract cancelled

Am i right in thinking that the lad had an option to extend his contract by a year which he took up last summer despite hardly playing for the previous 2 years..? If so (whilst i would have done the same as he will never have a contract like the one hes just been sat on) i dont really understand all the goodwill towards James and the giant injury list. Im just indifferent to the lad. Dean the 'Demon of the Lane' Hammond got fkin slated for taking up the 1 year extension despite knowing he wasnt wanted and would probably need to be paid off (which he was). So injuries apart, they both probably knew that they were taking up an extension of the contract in the full knowledge that they werent helping the club. Not knocking either for doing it as i said i would do it too in all honesty cos it was for a lot of money in each case, but each were rewarded handsomely over the years with Utd for contributing just short of fuk all.

I dont wish ill on either Hammond or Wallace but im mystified why one seems to have took us to the cleaners (not his fault his body gave up on him) for 3 years and goes with our blessing, whilst the other took us to the cleaners (not is fault his body gave up on him) and is the anti christ to many blades.

I personally thought DH was w@nk but he at least got on the pitch. Wallace was eternally injured.

Just playing devils advocate here as it seems double standards. Neither of em wanted to do badly, but their bodies dictated otherwise, and both took that extra year knowing they were just taking the money and likely to stunt the clubs playing budget. Food for thought i suppose, but to my mind there isnt a world of difference between either players ethics and using the club.

Potentially a very good player, who if he'd not been made out of glass I think would have complemented our current style of play and pushed Fleck all the way in his CM roll.

I really wish him, well but I fear it's not meant to be for him at pro level anyway.

Got to be honest, I never saw anything in the lad from the few games he played. Don't wish him ill, but glad he's gone!!!

The descousifiwhat?
If you're going to use big words, my personal best is "corrugated ".....

descousification
diːˌskaʊsɪfɪˈkeɪʃ(ə)n/
noun

the process of removing players from Liverpool from a football squad.
  • Eg. "the descousification of Sheffield United"
  • "My god this squad is appalling. This club needs to go through some serious descousification this summer."

I wouldn't last two years on full pay with his sickness record, I would've been out a long time ago. In fact my pay would be halved after 3 months. So no trite "good luck to the lad" sentiments from me.

Congratulations Jimbo, charmed life ain't it?

................and scottish players??

UTB

Only saw him play twice but both times he went straight forward down the middle of the park, looked good.

The only player of ours to be kit sponsored by "Injury Lawyers 4 You"......

I hope this doesn't put others out of work!!! will we now need the "James Wallace ICU and medical team" at BDTBL!?
What will these people do now!?, I hope they will be ok.

I'm 47, with fucked knees, and a belly that has me needing a Wok to iron my shirts. I last kicked a ball about 10 years ago. With all that, I've still more chance of getting in the Premier League than JW has, unfortunately for him. His body just really isn't up to it. He'll probably more likely turn up in an F.A Cup game playing for a "plucky non league club".

What actual injuries has he had? Is it a chronic knackering of a particular place or just one thing after another?

About fucking time as well.

Agreed.

Another one who took a contract extension when he could have looked for first team football elsewhere in the summer. Yet he chose to stay here for another year (claiming to be fit when he isn't) on probably a decent wage hoping for another loan move.

A shame as I thought he would turn out to be quality player for us but his fitness has never been there. Also questions have to be answered by the muppet who thought it was wise move giving him such a contract.

Disastrous signing of someone with chronic injury problems. How they decided to give him a 3 year contract is a mystery.

He completed 566 minutes for us in the League and that equates to about 6 League games. He managed 90 minutes in a League game twice, which were the only two complete games he played for us.

Can't see him getting anything but short term non league contracts or a contract based on pay per game played.

If he can't prove fitness in the remainder of this season, he'll surely have to retire.

Does this complete the descousification of last year's squad? Adkins, Higdon, McEveley, Baxter, Wallace – all gone.

I'm hearing that Jack O'Connell has hired personal security.
