Interesting to hear that his agent told him we were interested straight after the game against them earlier in the season.

He was running the show until he went off

Sounds a bit joey essexy to me but I like him

Like that wilder tapped him up when he played at ours

Bodes well....

New Sheffield United signing Samir Carruthers has said his start to life at the club hasn't been perfect.

Speaking to me this morning, he talked about how he started training wearing his shorts the wrong way around:

Bastard. It'll be a jumper over his shoulders next.

He's a softly spoken fellow.....not the character perhaps portrayed? Where was the loud, beer swilling yob?

Interesting we were interested after we played them. He was impressive though for 25 minutes or whatever it was.

Player with a confident swagger . Another dimension to the sqaud . Talking over , time to deliver . Great times created by Wilder and the board . Season starts Saturday at Southend .

I'm at work so can't see that. I assume he's called us M*****e? New signings really should have a media induction before they go in front of them.
I can't see it either. I managed to work out what the word was from the number of asterisks you used.

He's got a snakey/untrustworthy voice:D, and he's "not arsed" where he plays "as long as I'm on the pitch" don't know how to take that.

Might help if you posted something that was relatively coherent........as for 'snakey', meaningless comment, as for "not arsed as long as I'm on the pitch'', it underlines his desire to stay in the team and work hard to achieve this. Think you need a spelling refresher fella.

It was a daft comment.

I agree it that it shows his desire to stay in the team, I meant rather how I couldn't make my mind up how to perceive what he was saying, I was caught between thinking of it as arrogance or a strong will to fight for and keep his place in the team. Regards the other comment I made about his voice that was daft but not meant in a malicious way at all haha. I apologise profusely for my inadequate grammar.

No need to apologise, just use spellchecker, it's there for a reason.

There was no suggestion of arrogance from the new lad, and I think that he'll be eager to see what he's capable of. I don't think he'll walk into the team, but when his chance does arrive I bet he'll get a great reception.

Wants to get in the side and do well, he's not come here to make up the numbers.

I think we'll take to him, welcome to BDTBL, Samir.

I don't know why but it reminds me of a signing we made in January 1971. The beard is nowhere as impressive but if he has the same impact as that fella had I'll be happy.

Just listened to the full interview, why the fuck did Buchan feel the need to bring up the pint glass incident? FFS give the guy a break, it's not like he glassed someone with it. Thought Samir shut him down very well 'I learnt my lesson, won't be going there again, I don't like to bring it up myself so STFU mate....' or words to that effect.

Welcome to the Lane Samir, a terrific signing!

Not much of a role model if you ask me.

If I was the manager I would ban all players from talking to the media until they had been professionally trained in such matters. Technically challenged individuals (idiots and simpletons) would just be banned, including from all forms of social media.

Still, from a footballing perspective he deserves a chance. I hope he can deliver.

Beat me to it Stretch , an amateurish piece of journalistic prying, uncalled for and it served no useful purpose whatsoever. Put it down to stupidity mate, I too thought that Carruthers dealt with the question well.

because his hand slipped on "hot" instead of "how"? Behave.

No Rodders, we all make the odd mistake, it was the tone based on referring to a 'snakey' voice, whatever that was meant to suggest. Got to give any new player a chance rather than jumping on a him. Carruthers spoke well and didn't suggest a reason to be unsure of his attitude. He just seems eager to get started. Misinterpreting his motives seemed daft.

And he put a massive smiley after the 1st line. Come on man, lighten up!

I don't like him. Apparently always injured, and seems like a player who just here for the journey and won't be "arsed" to put in the extra effort.

Bad signing in my eyes. But would be happy to be proved wrong

Milton Keynes Dons:
2014–15 League One 38 games
2015–16 Championship 43
2016–17 League One 28 already.

In all competitions.

Doesn't seem like he's out injured too much if Wiki is to be believed.

I took his can't be arsed comment as meaning he would play anywhere as long as he's playing. I got the impression that he'd prefer the No.10 role tho.

Not sure how it all works so I could well be wrong....If someone at the club got in touch with his agent, could that be viewed as tapping up?
