Someone on high at the club needs to start banging a few heads at this tin pot rag. I am sure the combined wealth of our owners could scare the shit out of them with threats of lawsuits etc.

Embarrassingly biased for a paper that is supposed to service the entire community of Sheffield.

UTB

How/Why would they file a lawsuit?
What law have they broken?

Not defending them, just curious.

So it's the staff, is it - The Star is staffed by journalists who put their support of Wednesday ahead of their professional duties and the editor waves it through?

Well, if they are not intentionally biased, then they must just be incompetent.

Not sure which would be more embarrassing for the old soaks.

Don't know if this has been posted on this thread, but I inherited today's rag from the father in law, opening up the back page to reveal our match report.
Scrolled along the bottom of the page are the stats: possession, shakers 52/48bury,shots,shakers 7/13bury... Mistaking the word bury for blades.

You get the gist, stand out errors on a scale of total unprofessionalism.
What do the editing team do??,too busy jizzing allover the pigs write up??
Pathetic bog roll.

How about as S24SU editorial policy we remove any URLs linking directly to The Star so as not to drive traffic and increase their ad-revenue?

Ironically, considering how they gather their news (cough... Sheffield Forum, Facebook, here, Owlstalk) they are quite keen on preventing people "copying" their articles so please don't c&p.

That would be great!!

Do tell me how this alleged anti-United bias works - are potential new recruits asked which team they support and only Wednesdayites selected? Does the editor censor articles to ensure a pro-Wednesday bias? Do they have news meetings every morning discussing ways of putting down United?
Of course they do haven't you guessed that one yet ?

Obviously, if you wish to protest, there are a number of things you can do.

The big one is to write to their local advertisers stating that while they continue to pay to advertise in the Sheffield Star, you will be withholding your custom. Cc any letters sent to Johnston Press.

That's barring the obvious: don't buy it, encourage others not to buy it, don't read it online or if you must, stringently ad-block.

They like to whip up this outrage to drive traffic to their site as their print circulation dwindles. They are the journalistic equivalent of the "weight-loss tips your doctor doesn't want you to know!!!" pop-ups... and well, we wouldn't link to them either.

Ordinarily we're not for censorship, but I think we can exercise the word-filter in this case.

Takes a brave man to admit he's a journalist but recognising you are one is the first necessary step on the road to recovery and to becoming a normal member of society.
Like doctors and policemen, journalists always stand up for the others who are in the same profession as them

If we had signed Jesus Christ I suspect The Stir would repost it thus..

"From causing fights in a temple to passing off water as alcoholic beverage, everything you needed to know about Uniteds new signing"

Or United new signing in cheat 5,000 crowd out of 5 loaves and two fishes scam.

Hang on I'll just tweet James Shield and ask for an explanation...

...oh damm sorry just remembered, blocked!
