Sounded like a very done-esque performance

Can only imagine the slating Done would have got for giving away the ball for the first goal and missing a one on one.

I hope he does great, but won't exaggerate his performances because I've backed myself into a corner by over the top criticisms of this month's scapegoat.

I don't think Laverys performance was as good as it is being made out to be. There was some excellent play, which undoubtedly augers well for the future, but he also didn't managed to finish 2 excellent chances you would expect any striker worth his salt to score.

If Matt Done had turned in a similar performances as to what Lavery did yesterday then he would be getting slaughtered for missing the two chances.

I'd give him a run up top with Billy,he's looked really promising in the times he's come on as a Sub..He's got a trick and turn of pace, links up well, can go past players and not only a threat in behind,he's a threat from in and around the edge of the box and not afraid to have shot...I think he's been held back because of fitness and hopefully there's a lot more to come in the 2nd half of the season.

So our second striker doesn't need to score as long as he contributes to the win?

Unless its done

Happily it is just about done. Lavery contributes in a very real and tangible way; two assists.

Runaround gives the impression of involvement by expending (to great but naive S2 acclaim) a great deal of energy achieving very little by ... well ... runninaround.

A long-standing fan said recently on here that he doesn't know whether old Runaround is left or right footed, because he's never seen him kick the ball. An exaggeration of course, but how often, when he 'plays' is he actually involved in the build-up? When do you see him control a ball rather than chasing shadows? Can he play a decent pass? The answer is pretty clear to all those questions.

Your hero is a non-footballer. He is Natt Montdomery. Happily, we'll be seeing less and less of him from now on. Done.

You make a good point about Lavery - what we need to see is Sharp and Lavery with our A class midfield of Coutts/Fleck and Duffy.

The team stuttered a bit yesterday as we started without the two players that really make us tick.

He is Natt Montdomery

Happy New Year to this hilarious juxtaposed name on its first public appearance of 2017.

Rumours are that the name will make an extensive tour of Blades boards, blogs, zines and even pubs during 2017. This will come to an untimely end when Pinchy gets a smack in the gob for being a 'moaning old bastard'.

You heard it here first.
