nopChinese whisper say Sun Jihai was McNulty's dad?
I hope it's not Toney, when he played for Shrewsbury at the lane he was a complete bell end. He was taken off for being mardy and having a strop with his team mates.
UnlikelyChed will be starting at Bury
It's all gone quiet, it's all gone quiet over there.........no doubt as the moment of climax reaches a point where containment is no longer possible we'll hear a few murmurs of, "Would be a bargain, even at his current (limited) scoring rate".....or "Can you imagine the impact an Evans/Sharp axis would have, especially with our midfield pulling the strings?"......and there are a multitude of other sales pitches that can be used. Once January has come and gone, and Wilder has brought in someone fit for purpose, for this division and the one above, then all the bluster surrounding Evans will lamely fade away as we look to a future where a team fashioned by our manager looks to address what playing at a higher level requires.
So you think we're going to sign a striker better than Evans then. That's extremely hopeful to say the least. We probably won't even sign a striker by the sounds of it.
I wouldn't know, I'm not the manager........there's a strange inference that there's no one better equipped than Evans, in this division or even the one above? Let's be patient Herbert, always the best advice any of us should take. Fun times ahead, especially with someone in charge who appears to know what he's doing. Unlike me or thee.
Not strange at all. Evans is our best bet with the resources available.I wouldn't know, I'm not the manager........there's a strange inference that there's no one better equipped than Evans
Don't put me in the same bracket as you.
My inference is that we're extremely unlikely to get any striker better than Evans with our budget. It would be a huge ask. It would even be hard to get someone on loan as good as him. He'll only get fitter and he'll only be better in a good side. That's obvious.
He could easily go and perform in the Championship, he has before, and the 35 goal season proved his ability beyond doubt. As long as his fitness is OK I think he'll do well there again. With Leeds and Villa said to be scouting him, it appears I'm not alone in thinking that.
I still think James Vaughn would be a good shout.
Got to admit, just love the absolutes....."That's obvious", a corker of delusion if ever there was. As for being in the same bracket, I never once considered you have what it takes old son...but do keep on plugging away.
Lots of indefinite articles in your final piece of wishful thinking....."...said to be scouting him"? Oh, I see, on that less than secure invention called the grapevine that's intended to suggest you're in the mix? Quickly followed by the assertion that you share exactly the same level of professional nous, "it appears I'm not alone in thinking that". Who'd have thought you share the same insights as Leeds and Villa? A corker there Herb, can we have more please?
Frustrating player Vaughn. More than good enough to play in the championship but just can't stay fit.
I think evans could do a job for us still. His hold up play and general ability he possessed against us earlier in the season i thought was still really good. If we couldnt get better then i would be open to his return.
Would like us to look for wingers and cover/competition for fleck, coutts and duffy as priority in case one gets injured.
You should always follow that sentence with "he would tear this division a new one"........
He still looked strong and dangerous at the Chesterfield game, but maybe he was raising his game because of who he was paying against?
You really are a precious, patronising egotist. With very little to offer, as it happens. You preach about how to 'treat fellow Blades' yet cannot handle simple disagreements without reverting to type and trying to talk down to people (have 10 likes Barney). So we'll add 'hypocrite' to the list as well!
It goes without saying that neither of us know as much as Wilder. But your comment infers that you're clueless. That's fine. But just because you infer that about yourself it doesn't give you a free pass throw me into the same bracket and expect no response from me. Football wise, I know what I'm talking about.
If you don't think it's obvious that a striker will do better in a better team creating far more chances, then you're inference is correct - you clearly don't know too much.
Come back to me when I actually state it as fact that Villa/Leeds are scouting him. You're clutching at straws. But that's only to be expected - the likes of you will go to any lengths when it comes to Ched's possible return - the prospect terrifies you doesn't it!
Rickey.....Herbert......Cynthia, whatever you choose to call yourself. As for commenting on my piece about how Blades treat one another, please read it in detail. Not once did I suggest that a poster should passively accept a hostile approach and not comment. Your post #312 didn't begin with a pleasantry, it began by telling me not to put myself in the same bracket as yourself. What bracket would that be Herb? A bracket that supports books? Or was it a clearly defined bracket suggesting that you are so much better, possibly superior? As for Barney, I love this mutual admiration society you two seem to have created where backslapping each other's posts follows as naturally as night follows day? Is it that your hunger for 'likes', and that in Barney you've found the perfect attention seeking dullard to fill up your 'like' card?
I may have a hope that Blades won't sink to clearly demonstrable levels of hostilities towards one another, and I include you and Barney in that, but please don't confuse that wish with another quality I have, where posters such as yourself, who, having taken a step up, feel they're equipped to interpret the posts of other Blades correctly. I am of course referring to my post about Blades treating one another with a little respect. If you'd read it thoroughly you'd have noted I commented on my own fallibility, rather than suggest to other Blades that they aren't in the same bracket as myself. By saying I'm not in the same bracket as yourself you seem to think that you're a cut above myself, a strange assertion given that you know so little about me, but hey ho, if it serves your purpose then yes, you, dear Herb, are so much better, in fact you're about as unique as anyone could be. Does that help Herb? I've made a public proclamation saying as much, can't get much better than that can it bud?
If you can step down from your bracket for a moment, consider what I'm saying, and then decide that it's preferable to be less attritional, then you'll find that makes for a better, more helpful exchange of posts. On the other hand, if you choose to write selectively, take comments out of context, then I'll respond in kind. Over to you big fella, what's it to be? A little wisdom and conciliation on your part, or more of the same tired sabre rattling, where put-downs with the support of your own Ernie, in the guise of Barney, to your own Eric, that manages to maintain the same familiar, but very tired, routine.
FFS what a diatribe.
