I've already booked an open top double decker to go round the city full of drunk Blades in celebration of promotion (see I didn't get ahead of myself by saying we were going to be champions).
I've also had 4 banners printed up to be draped from the top deck so whichever way you look at the bus you can see what it's all about. That reminds me I'll have to spray out the bit about winning the FA cup.

I think Scunny will fall away in the next few weeks.

Stevenage revisited. 2-2 after being 0-2.
I can't remember a time we took advantage of fuck all since maybe Cardiff and Watford.
We didn't need to win at Darlo or Leicester and any other occaision I can recall we have royally fucked up.
Maybe Silent can think of one we didn't.
I absolutely detest the pathetic "Top of the league" bollux. Unless it's sung at fulltime after game 46.

Whilst being a football fan is 99.9% blind faith it dosen't mean everyone has to jump about and believe what dosen't happen 99.9% of the time will.
IF we get 3 points against Northampton I will be as relieved as I will happy.

They're not bad. But we need to keep up our dominance against bottom half teams (like Northampton are), cos our record against the better sides isn't great so far.

We doing so well up to now by having bullied the lower-placed sides.

Fair point. And it could be argued that we looked very good against each of the 3 top-four sides, getting through the tough away trips, leaving the luxury of just home games against them to come. Interesting too that the 3 losses and one draw of the calamitous start to the season were all against top-half sides - like you say, surely if those games were played now rather than then the outcome would be very different.

One thing that would be good though would be (as per SBT's point above) to actually turn up in the biggest games this season. Even in 2011/12, we were woeful in the home games against the top three. Will this be another sign of progress under Wilder?

Saw the Look North report on the Boxing Day action yesterday. The pigs got (what felt like) half an hour of highlights of their Newcastle game, with adoring commentary and implications that that result sets them up to piss the league. Everyone else had a single goal shown.

Yes, Varadi scored again early in the 2nd half. Not long after that, Gary Hamson had a penalty saved. Cambridge then took advantage of Dracula Conroy who was unable to deal with the crosses and they scored three quickfire goals (think Alan Biley scored twice). John Matthews saved us a point late in the game with a screamer, assisted by Greenwich Blade 's dad (he will tell you the story)

In those days I watched from the EDS Pen whilst my dad and his Firth Brown colleagues congregated behind the dugouts in order to impart their wisdom and advice to Harry Haslam, and before him Jimmy Sirrell. As the 90 minutes were drawing to a close my dad would only ever come strolling across to the Pen if we'd been rubbish, hence as we'd chucked away a two goal lead and were now losing 3-2 I wasn't surprised to see him strolling across to the railings. As I listened to him moaning away the ball was clattered into the John Street Terrace, empty as it was at that end. My dad chased after the ball as it bounced around on the steps, scooped it up and then lobbed it to Paul Garner who was waiting with his hand raised in that universal signal of "ovver 'ere, mate."

Garner then chucked it to Matthews who took it forward a few yards and then leathered it into the back of the net. Forget Paul Garner, that was one assist to Rennie Bell, thanks very much.

Some fucker told me that about Leicester around this time last year...

Leicester managed to keep their squad fit and had Kante. This is rare although it was great to see them break the monopoly. The reason teams "Drop Off" is generally down to squad depth when injuries hit. We have a very strong squad in Midfield with good defenders. So I believe we can keep going. Scunny may get lucky as may Bolton which could make it go to the wire.
