BBC said:
Sheffield United loanee David Cotterill has said his long-term future lies with parent club Wigan Athletic.

The Wales international is on loan at Bramall Lane until the end of the season, but will return to the Premier League side in the summer.

"Steve Bruce said I still had a future at Wigan," the 20-year-old forward told BBC Radio Sheffield.

"I can't decide my own future because I'm contracted to Wigan and they'll decide things. It's up to them."

Cotterill has started 11 games for the Blades since joining in February, but has yet to score.

But he is hoping to grasp his opportunity with the Latics next season.

"You never know in football what will happen," added Cotterill. "[Antonio] Valencia is playing very well at the moment for Wigan.

"I just feel I need to get back in there, see if I get a chance and then take it."

No big loss in my opinion...too 'lightweight' and 'chicken'....SUFC can do better.

In the full interview that I heard the audio on... He also went on to state that he has no control over his future as all the cards are with the club who own him.

He didn't seem to commit either way.

I'd like to see us sign him. I think he's a good, pacey winger who gets decent crosses in (and some poor ones too, but no one is perfect 100% of the time).

More news on Cotterill from Beeb

Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell has yet to decide whether to launch a summer bid to buy David Cotterill.

The Wigan wide man is currently on loan at Bramall Lane, but his future under former Blades boss Steve Bruce at the JJB Stadium is unclear.

"We've got a decision to make on many things, including Cotterill," Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield.

Read in the paper today (can't remember which one) that Blackwell is going to bid 1million. Good price i'd say.

id go upto 2 mil for Cotteril tbh, well worth it
and id bid upto 1.5 for Martin, im sure united dont want him, the we have to fast wingers for each side able to take on their man :)
