There were strong rumours that Leicester and Southampton were both interested at the time but weren't willing to take the risk with his pending court case.
Despite having a poor previous season for us (in a poor team) he was still highly regarded
Sticks out like a sore thumb how much Evans would add to our squad.

And I'm refusing to rule out the possibility of Gwyneth Paltrow taking me for a pint and a pie at the Broadie. Spirulina and chia seed probably. We'll see....
Did it stick out like a sore thumb ?I once did a bird up the arse, who at 3am looked like Gwyneth Paltrow.
Providing Evans was on the pitch ? Looking a bit injury prone at the minute, also we would have no pace down the middle with those 2 paired up. I would rather see us sign Akinde or Bogle if we are going for a centre forward.I think with him a Billy up top we wud be a force to reckon with. He looked sharp strong and a real threat again to us. If he had the service of what our midfield can provide think him and sharp wud be unstoppable

Seems to me Evans has done enough damage to the club (the season he played for us and then was unavailable at the crucial part of the run-in through the stupidity of his actions off the pitch, criminally innocent or not; the further tarnishing of an already tarnished reputation of the club (after signing Marlon King) throughout his trial and appeals, and then the further disruption and unwanted attention to the club when he came out on parole and was cosying up for a return). Why on earth would we want someone back who would divide the support (and possibly team) again when for once it is United, whose potential contribution to the team is at least questionable and who was more than likely to have buggered off if a better offer came along? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Is that to stop you from sucking it?You're supposed to stick the thumb in first
Trust me on this one. It would work a treat. If he could work with Billy it would be a dream pairing.
Goals galore
Couldnt agree moreTrust me on this one. It would work a treat.
Reason ?
Both have the intelligence and "nouce" to understand what each other wants, in terms of runs, supply, and where to be on the pitch at any given time.
We have seen how effective Coutts and Fleck have been recently. Mostly for exactly the same reasons.
How many times has Sharp delivered quality balls in to the box already this season ?
Who has been on the end ???
And it would work the other way as well with Ched providing quality supply for Billy.
I like Done and all he does for the side. But he is limited.
But Done isn't Ched, who would be a massive upgrade on what we already have as a partner for Sharp.

So true.Done isn't even Done at the moment...![]()
So true.
The injury he had pre season last year appears to have blunted his most deadly weapon. His pace.
Shame.

I honestly think he's lost a yard. Which is preventing him regularly beating his man and getting in behind.I never ever thought Done was fast, just just hardworking with a habit of getting on the end of a few chances and taking them.
He's been as hardworking as ever and he's still been getting on the end of chances. He's just been missing them all, that's his problem, not pace (IMO).
Cos he hasn't missed a penalty before for us has he ?........oh hang on ......Dont think ched wud av missed that pen last night
