Chris Wilder - What a man!

I think Wilder had two things to do when he arrived
1) Just get something going on the pitch....... anything, but just get some semblance of a team that knows what it's doing

2) Get the fans looking forward to watching us play or even attempting to play again

He's done that already. It's great to have a team that has good football in them but can also roll its sleeves up to get the job done as well

For too long we've had teams that can either roll its sleeves up but provide no quality or a team full of quality on paper but as sturdy as an MFI wardrobe

Careful fella. Me and thee are dangerously close to having positive thoughts about our team for a change! We are in unknown territory (or at least territory that hasnt been seen by our likes since 2003) and tbh it does feel good to be able to praise the management and the team for a change for having a clue and a pair of testis each. Be just like the bstards to kick us in the bollox again soon....(think positive thoughts... think positive thoughts...think of Charlize Therons thighs...sorry my mind wondered for a second.)

This is the problem weasel
If there is a way to fuck up a good situation United will find it and if there's a way to make a terrible situation seem abysmally hopeless, United will find that as well.

I'm just glad that Wilder has given thousands of people a reason to go to the Lane again and even more impressed by him making thousands of others consider going BACK to the Lane.

I still won't be entirely happy though until they actually win something. But that's just me
Every other club of similar size and even smaller has, so why can't we ?

When somebody takes over that drives the loser mentality and the "We can't possibly do that" mentality out of the club then I'll be happy

The thing about momentum is the positive feedback that you get as long as you have the right attitude. If you have momentum you are feared.

If you get ahead and continue to push you are feared even more. If you go behind and push even harder you continue to be feared.

We have always had a squad good enough to get out of this pub league but we have never had the right attitude.

We have had the momentum to take us on at some time in every season, but we have then gone cautious and never exploited it.

Now we have no fear. If you are down we will stand on your throat. If you are up we will kick you in the bo!!ocks.

This Tufty is not just good - he is the real deal. He will take us on and we will take him on.

WE WILL DO MAGIC AGAIN

I keep saying "yes Shrewsbury are near the bottom but they are fighting for their lives and it will be really tough"
Or "Away to Chesterfield is a local derby, form goes out of the window and its a real banana skin"
Or "we can't keep playing well and are due a bad performance sooner or later"

You forgot 'Bury will probably have a new manager.' :D

Bladey crap.
To entirely pooh-pooh the notion that a manager's "fan grade" pride in a club can play even the slightest part in his squad's fortune, you must be married entirely to your convictions. You deny that authentic displays of passion and desire, and the reciprocation from us in the stands, is part of the recipe of our momentum. You deny that our "never say die" response to going a goal behind is partly born out of our faith that our manager feels the same as us and will put heart and soul into his halftime team-talk; that there is a mutualistic element to our relationship assisting in the motivations of both manager and fans. You disregard as coincidence that this "feeling" that we are experiencing this season has been missing since Warnock was grabbing the air in front of the kop. It's your prerogative of course. I just find it fascinating that you can possibly find football as entertaining as you must do. To me, it's this kind of thing that elevates football above simply a sport and if it was just a sport, I'd have long since fucked it off.

It`s just awesome. I mean Lord Chrissywissy has only been here 5 minutes and it's like the last 10 years of ploppy never happened. Awesome. Sir Lord Chrissington will get us promoted and then promoted again and then he'll be Sir Lord Sir Chrissingtonpoo-Snuggler and wow how awesome as by then we'll be in the Europe cuppy thing and Lord Sir Lord Sir Chrissington-Pootinkywinky-lalapo will be god and it will be even more awesome.
And then we play Shrewsbury on Saturday and they make biscuits and it's still Division 3 and it's only ahalfway in November. Mmm yes.

That some up our recent history perfectly,we now have a manager that won't tolerate failure which is down to pressure.Wilder has balls and he won't tolerate wimps who crumble when under pressure, well done Mr Wilder your team ( which you built in double quick time ) is up for everything the opposition through at them, rhe have bottle.

Bladey crap.
Indeed. Bassett had no prior connection to us whatsoever but is a true Blades' Legend.
Just as CW had nothing to do with Northampton until he became manager but gave them his all.

I may be completely wrong but even I sense that is a provocative, piss taking Pinchy post.

And that's what matters, not the Bladey crap...

Putting to one side your known position on 'Bladey; issues can you genuinely deny, that part of the reasons the fans have taken to CW so much, is that he is a known Blade?

Adkins could have had (ok, fantasy island), a similar run but there is no way on this planet that he would have commanded the same respect, affection and following.

Please carry on trotting out the 'Bladey' rubbishing line but be aware that you are looking more and more like King Canute.

I don't deny it. I agree with you. I merely say it's parochial bollocks. If a manager plays proper football and brings us success I'm all for him, whether from Sharrow, Sudan or Saturn.
