I suspect being charged with rape doesn't foster team harmony either. Or failing a drugs test. The club has had no problem with letting players play in such situations.
They "let them play" because (a) Not Guilty until convicted and (b) Not Guilty until B sample analysed and opportunity given to dispute either A or B by offering a defence or, if accepted, receive mitigation such that no ban ensues.
You really are missing the point with regard to McNulty. Not only is his personality and effort for the team suspect but Wilder has identified that he isn't what he wants or needs at the moment.
Lets look at the evidence with regard to what McNulty got to show he was worthy of a start in the league and what Freeman and Coutts got to see if poor little Mac was hard done by.
La Manga - Coutts 45
Freeman 45
McNulty 45
Stocksbridge - Coutts - not selected
Freeman 45
McNulty 45
Derby - Coutts 11
Freeman - unused sub
McNulty 45
Halifax - Coutts 58
Freeman 20
Mc Nulty 32
Grimsby - Coutts 23
Freeman 4
McNulty 45
Handsworth Coutts 90
Freeman 90
McNulty 45
This was the last preseason game I think and it seems interesting that despite being in the bad books both Coutts and Freeman had done enough in pre season and training to warrant a look at over 90 minutes whilst McNulty didn't.
The whole purpose of a pre season is to identify the players you think will start or at least be within the squad. Therefore to say (as you have done) well no league minutes then so he didn't get a chance is disingenuous. First league game had McNulty and Coutts as unused subs and Freeman nowhere.
Following game against Crewe, McNulty got on for 20 and Freeman and Coutts were unused.
Rochdale none of them got on from the subs bench
Southend only Coutts got on for 45 in the second half
Millwall Coutts and Freeman started and McNulty got 1.
The next game and the start of our resurgence was Oxford and Freeman and Coutts started. Guess what? Brayford was fucked off, the concencus of opinion being that the great championship player couldn't be arsed. So was McNulty.
Your argument does not stand up. Pre season Mc Nulty got 257. Coutts got 227 and Freeman got 204. League wise None started well but at least Mc Nulty got on for 20. By Millwall CW had seem enough and Brayford and Mc Nulty were toast. However just remember that CW brought in Hussley and he was equally toasted. CW does't suffer bullshitters, shirkers, hiders or disrupters including billy big bollocks and their dads.
If and when McNulty turns up to the party, I will welcome him. Perhaps he best ditch his attitude first.
