My lad was in summat like 2002 vs Cov
We lost 1-0 and his mate was the Cov mascot.
It's allus rose petals on 'ere, init?

Having seen all Foxy profile pictures, i reckon I was a mascot the exact same year.
Is it still a big thing any more? Are kids as excited by it? It was the greatest day of my life to be honest, and I'm married with child :D

I was one of 2 mascots at the April 66 game , when we beat man utd 3-1
I also was one, of several a few weeks later at hillsborough , for the germany switzerland world cup game

I remember being mesmerized by Charltons comb over, was it a small animal

My daughter has been mascot twice, against Wycombe in our first league 1 season when we won 3-0 (I think), and then against Donny the season before last when I think it was 2-1 (Davis scored the winner). She absolutely loved it and so did I to be fair, really well looked after by John Garrett, and also Charlie Hartfield's lad who used to do all the kicking around with them. She said the bed bit was being in the tunnel just before kick off.

Our lad was for his birthday in march.

My 2 grandsons were mascots for Coventry at home last season, they both loved it especially as we got hammered and won 1-0. Myself and the other grandad weren't so chuffed as we had to pay for it, extortionate.:tumbleweed:

Mine was v Arsenal in 1992, great day, they had Adams, Bould, Wright, Merson etc and we drew 2-2. My mum taped over the video I was given by the club with a Delia Smith cooking show and I threw a strop I remember.

Christ she got off lightly with a strop. I'd still have my bottom lip out now!

No mascots in my day but I was a ball boy in 1966. For a central league game. Rubbing shoulders with greats such as Roy Ridge and Denis Finegan.

1-1 in April 1992 (Rogers scored) and 1-1 in Sept 1992 (Whitehouse)

Charlton didn't play. Neither did Best or Law.

My wife says some sexy young bastard was mascot against Bristol City in 1988 on the night we went down and unperturbed by this went onto be mascot again versus the same set of fuckers 6 months later when we won 3-0 :)

Tell us who it was? Kenilworth likes it, was it him?

I was a mascot last time we beat Chelsea. November 199...3? 1-0 at the Lane.

My lad was mascot for United vs Pompey for the lino decking match and the one the following year. He was having a kick about with Fjortoft and Earl Barrett, I met HK and Alan Ball, who still regaled the TC sitting on Ball incident. Bally wasn't the arrogant prick I expected him to be and was very nice to us all.

Alan Ball was manager off Stoke when we beat them 1-0 in the 89/90 promotion season away. He claimed our goal was lucky as it went in off Deanes arm. I told this to my uncles mate who said "well he can fuckoff the squeaky voiced bastard"

I used to love the chant from the kop when he played at the Lane, 'Alan Ball' chanted to the Star Spangled Banner theme only in falsetto, usually way up at Jimmy Sommerville levels.

what I also remember is going into the german dressing room looking for Uwe Seeler as hed been in all the football mags and football cards
and totally ignoring Franz Beckenbauer as I hadnt got his card

My youngest daughter was mascot for the Boxing Day match v Oldham a couple of seasons ago (Jose Baxter worldie free kick). She still maintains it was the best day of her life. Matt Hill in particular was absolutely fantastic with the mascots, what a top man.

She now plays for Sheffield United Ladies U13, having moved from Steel City Wanderers this summer, where she captained the side to the league title twice, pipping Wednesday on both occasions. She was born a Blade, but being a mascot and the whole experience of the day cemented it for her.

I'll add to this that Mick Rooker organised all of this and was an absolute star. If anything epitomised what United is all about as a community football club (and I am not from the 'community' as such) it is him. The phrase 'nothing was too much trouble' belongs to him.

Top bloke, Rooks.
