Put it this way, on the radio Edwards was sounding like Adkins, and they are usually polar opposites.

Done's obviously looking better playing as a striker but there are improvements to be made for both him and Sharp. I'd also say it was Done's type of game today, a bit scrappy against slow defenders.

Being vertically challenged does not make you a poor footballer. Even in L1. Even is S2 !!!

Pleased for him. Goal and assist.

Encouraging signs our top two are now seeing eye to eye.

I just wish he would STFU with the "we've got this won, we're comfortable now". FFS Keith you played for 'em, this is the Blades you are talking about.
"It's done as a competition, Wimbledon have nothing left to throw at us!"
Could you possible jinx the unluckiest team in world football anymore if you tried Keith!? That was at 3-1.

Done and Lavery are going to be fighting for the same spot in the side.

We had a player who could spot and play the killer ball in behind when Fleck came on. Done was making all the same runs vs Oxford and either the ball didn't come, or he was offside by the time it did.

Wiped off as a one season wonder in some quarters, incorrectly in my view. Done's been injured, then played out of position for far too long. He's got blistering pace, stamina to burn, and Done offers an outlet that we're badly in need of. Three good goals scored yesterday, each a great example of what's needed to convert chances. I hope Wilder and Knill appreciate what Done brings to the team when he's played in his preferred position. We're a better team with Done played upfront, I just hope he's allowed to continue in this position as defences at this level have little answer to what Done offers us.

Done's value will always be in his work off the ball. Pressing defenders with the ball, working the channel and pulling defenders out of position. Because of that it's important you have a Billy Sharp to get the goals. Looks like they are starting to work well together.

I think Clarke is a better foil for Done then Sharp. Simply because Clarke likes to play more central whereas Sharp sometimes drifts wide which means we have no presence in the middle.

Lavery i'm yet to see but from what I have seen (his wonderful sub appearance for Pigs V. Leeds) he would play better with Sharp.

So Sharp and/or Clarke with Done and/or Lavery

Surprised Chapman hasn't figure at all as well, for me his pace out wide would have been the last straw for their defence. more so than Scougall.

Worrying for Clarke at the moment, he's good for playing with a target man to see out games but as a starter with Sharp, Done, Lavery also fighting for that position you have to worry.

Done has to start again at the weekend, he scored and created one against Wimbledon and subbing him for Clarke would be foolish

Really like him and Sharp upfront together, together they have already contributed 8 goals this season so clearly our most effective attacking players. Shame Done was often played at left back or left wing back last season, put him upfront and he will generally score goals.

Disagree, he's only scored one and doesn't look particularly deadly infront of goal but I do like his work rate and attitude and how he stretches defences. I think it's working at the moment but Lavery will be a better option than Done once he's fit.

Back up/ competition for Billy I reckon.

1 from Sharp and Clarke to partner 1 from Done and Lavery. For now, Sharp and Done start with Clarke and Lavery having to try to take their chance from the bench.

I think Done isn't good enough. Apart from one season he's never been a prolific scorer. I like his work rate and some of his finishing has been superb. But he didn't do it often enough and I've seen plenty of him and other good players down the years to reach an opinion that's he's not the answer.

By all accounts he had a good game on Saturday but I remain to be convinced. I think Lavery will take his place very soon and we'll be all the better for it.

He's playing well. He has the highest work rate of any of the players currently in the first 11 - that has bought him the patience of the fans because without that he would have been criticised for his lack of goals / missed chances so far this season.

I have a feeling Lavery will be a similar type of player. In this current formation I think it will be either Done or Lavery in the starting line up and not both together - which will be great competition and cover should one be unavailable.

I agree that's the competition for places. I saw Lavery a couple times at Chezzie. So, not a lot to go on tbh, but he's got youth and ability and unlike Done he gets in behind defenders regularly and I think he'll score a lot more goals.

Should interesting!

It's Lavery's pace and energy that's been most talked about but he also has good ability, he's got a good shot on him so he won't only be a threat in behind, but from outside the box as well, which will make a nice change to see in our team. I think he'll take Done's place in the team, and if it works out well for him it could make a huge difference to our season.

Indeed – though I hope this might be a spark back into a spell of better performances, which we've barely seen from him since that immediate period after he signed. People forget that he played up front and was generally poor – which was likely a factor influencing his switch to elsewhere in the team. Arguably his lack of a pre-season last year might have contributed to those performances too. Saturday's game raises the possibility of him becoming a starter up front – he's set a standard now, and will likely have Lavery competing with him, so he'll have to maintain that level to stay in. Hopefully he will.
