Not what I mean.

Sell him when the offer comes in when they pay the price we value him at. Set a deadline for his sale in effect.

Not done by 10/8 for £X...then you stay. Then play him, get the best from him and if we still want to sell in January the clubs will be back, and we will be in a better position to barter.
Are you referring to DCL here?

If so, play him in place of who?

Never nice to see lads who've come through the ranks leave the club - ultimately I'd like them to prosper and grow at SUFC. I've not seen him play much but from the bits I have im not going to be crying into my cornflakes about this tomorrow morning.

Best of luck to the lad, he came across a decent kid which is a rare thing so I hope for his sake he goes on to prove it a shite bit of business but my overall feeling is... meh.

Exactly and yet some on here still don't see it as an issue. As we watch on as the likes of other clubs around us sell players for much more and wonder how they did that.

While we keep making excuses for the club "Oh he was never that good anyway." then they will just keep on selling what talent we have left and for a pittance.

It was a similar situation with Che. We didn't get enough money for him either and I'm confident he will prove that over the course of this season. I already heard a Brum supporter on the radio today saying he's made a difference to them.

I've no problem with these players leaving provided we get a fee of comparative market value. I have never argued against the assertion that it's difficult to hold on to ambitious young players when clubs higher up come along offering more money. All I ask is that someone at the club uses their grey matter a bit and gets the best deal for the club, not the player and his agent.

The fees for the two mentioned were crap. Not happy.

To me it just seems like a total no brainer for us, but a real risk for DCL. I'd have rather gone out on loan again to League 2 and play a full season there and come back a better player for the experience than play under 21 football, which as we all know is totally not comparable to senior football. Each to his own and also if it was me I would have wanted to make my mark at United, which he hasn't. Maybe United were just more than happy to accept the bid and DCL thought he may as well go where he was wanted more?

His sale pays for the academy for another year...hopefully we'll turn one out who is worth a few bob in the next few years...that Semple or someone...

Doesn't matter whether we got £1m or £10m, the money would not be reinvested.

And we get £1.4m in return.

1 point four million pounds sterling.

Don't mind if I fucking do.

Just out of interest, since you want to be a scout, transfer negotiator, manager, chairman et al. How and when was the £1.4m paid.

Well, since I'm not in any of those positions I wouldn't know.

What's your point, exactly?

Adams has more natural skill and also more experience than DCL but he wanted to leave, and I don't think he'll turn out to be as good as Brum think. He's too inconsistent. We need players who can make a difference now, rather than potential, and its clear we've used the money from the sales of Adams and DCL to totally revamp the team to the way Wilder wants. I think we'll be better off for selling those two, if it means we've been able to sign 4 or 5 key players.

We've removed Everton's pants with the DCL deal, and rogered them with a John Ebrell shaped dildo.

What if DCL didn't figure in Wilder's plans? This seems to be the case, so playing him would be a risk, both for the club and DCL. You can't just play him, that creates enormous risk for the team as well as the player's future. Wilder has to build for this and next season, unfortunately pragmatism rules and Wilder's decision to sell is the right one.

Nobody seems to have picked up on the fact this was "rumoured" weeks ago. Clearly there was something in it.

It pains me to question the club yet again, but seeing as we had no intention of playing him, and had every intention of selling him why the hell have we done this 2 hours before the window closes?

Surely we could have got this done long before now so we could get on with spending the money on strengthening the crucial areas we are lacking.
I really hoped we might be learning from mistakes made, and I could be more cynical as to this particular transfer. But on the evidence so far we dint seem to have got the hang of this transfer lark do we.
Quite simple really we don't intend spending any money we receive'

It's not like the club that is buying is short of cash either. Once you factor in agents fees etc and in Che's case a sell on clause then you realise we got fuck all in todays market.

That you know the square root of fuck all?
So I don't know how or when the money is to be paid, because I'm not the manager or the chairman.

And that means I know the square root of fuck all.

Did I claim to know how or when the money is to be paid?

If we sell the 'graduates' of the academy in order to fund the academy, then there is no point having said academy is there?

I am not fussed at all about the player himself going but I can't say it's a good deal as we are unlikely to see any of the money be reinvested in the team.

If it's consolation to those who aren't happy with the fee, we wouldn't have seen it effect the playing side of things even if we had sold him for £5m. I think this window has shown that we have no intention on spending "big" on anyone. We seem to be mirroring a club like Crewe who sell their best players to simply keep going. In all honesty it's what we have always done

FFS how can folk complain at this transfer at this price?
Good luck to the lad but it's no good us hanging onto players for the future while we are in this scabby league - we need players that can perform now!
DCL did not show enough at this level and hopefully for his sake he will benefit from playing with better players around him.
Let's get out of this shite league with proven players and then worry about keeping 'Prospects' if and when we are a top half championship side again.
Players with potential come and go all the time so don't fret as this won't be the last one we let go beforw we return to our forder glory (massive lol).

Well done CW and united on the transfer business this window - 12 or 13 new players is that?

Looking forward to storming up that fkin league table now :)

He's tall. That's where it ends, isn't it?

Has he scored with his head on loan elsewhere? I'd like to say that was one of his strong points when he played for us, but in this case there's no thought to waste. He hasn't demonstrated any strong points in this time.

Lydon says........."Anyway. He's no longer our player, we progress."

No we don't we regress.

& I'm proud to say I wouldn't know which prick any given dildo was based on.

Just happen to think if you're selling a player for £1m+ on transfer deadline day, you're entitled to expect at least one pretty significant signing (especially having flogged Adams previously & got Brayford off the payroll).

I'd have much preferred we'd have kept the academy prospect nearest to breaking into the first team, personally. But "running costs" (or whatever) dictate, I suppose.

If you're happy with it, you're happy with it. Can't say I am.

The reality is Wilder is the only one who's actually seen him play a reasonable number of games, having had him at Northampton last season. Consequently you'd hope he had an understanding of his value and potential.

Yep just about enough pounds in these shitty deals to keep lights on til the end of the season and keep that narrow fucking Desso pitch in good condition.
