I take it all the fans boycotting tonigh'ts game (and I totally understand the reasons why) will be attending the Walsall game in the same competition on 4th October. No point having the protest if we aren't going to show up for the remaining home game that would really highlight the effectiveness of the protest (i.e. don't turn up for the 'academy teams but will against proper opposition)

Will be great to have 15k plus there won't it ;-)

as i ve put on the match thread, I was ok with B teams as i rather in old JPT than a stupid League 3. But it kind of had merit as man city B that has win last 2 youth cups (i think) has a bigger budget than majority of teams competing in old JPT but instead of being stubborn the football league should have ditched the idea once the likes of Man Utd/City Liverpool Arsenal Chelsea Tottenham all declined. Because they are the only keeping the flimsy idea afloat

& also to give a good ball park figure of possible crowd. 7.6% of oxford crowd would be just under 1500

I can see why some would do that, but I'm boycotting the competition as a whole.

Which is really testing when Grimsby would be my 84th of 92 grounds in competitive games...

No, the entire competition is now a joke

It was a joke before because we couldn't field a kids team, now its a bigger joke because Premier League teams CAN

The equivalent competition in Scotland, The Irn-Bru Cup is showing live on TV this Saturday...

http://spfl.co.uk/challenge-cup/fixture/3639086/

Livingston FC v Celtic U20

Ticket Price = £15

There's something stirring in the footballing undergrowth, it's gaining momentum slowly, by the time it's the "norm" it'll be too late for us to change it.

No signs anywhere of any of tonight's matches being shown on TV... (yet).

Question is do you agree with how the cup has gone if yes then go and enjoy if no then don't if you are going just for a free ticket i seriously wonder if you are really fit and proper to be representing SUFC fans through this forum.

May be worth hanging around to see how this one pans out.

i thought the West Ham game in this competition is on ................ could be wrong though

Also the Celtic and Rangers U20s have been taking 2,000 supporters to these games. Scotland lower league teams get 400 to a league game, so for them having Premier league u20s teams tipping up is a much needed revenue stream.

I have read (and posted) some bollocks on this forum over the years but that tops the lot.

Your aren't fit and proper to represent a forum because you may(or may not) go to a games as you have been offered a free ticket?

Does that mean all ST holders who went to the Crewe game as it was 'free' aren't fit and proper Blades ?

I wouldn't normally, but I will make the effort on this occasion

I don't represent anyone but myself, thank you very much and unfortunately, I don't appear to be able to resign my position.

But cheers for your constructive input.

Not sure that is the case. Celtic played at Cowdenbeath in front of 449. Not sure that has made the Cup worthwhile for the Blue Brazil...

Foxy and I have the opportunity of the sponsor tickets for this match FOC.

Do we go and do the commentary so other people don't have to?

I'm sure people can manage with the radio and internet for commentary. Isn't the boycott about the principle of the competition and non-financial? Anyway, it's all about personal choice so people should just do what they want.

I've had my hair and nails done for this...
Thank Christ I didn't buy that Liberacesque sequined all-in-one...
I would look a fool.

Well there's the ongoing problem of being counted in the attendance anyway (the tickets have been issued) and I must admit to a morbid curiosity.

I would like to illustrate how few people are there, the issue being, I have to be there myself to do so fully in the knowledge that it's a complete load of shite.

I'm torn boys, really torn. And this as someone who stuck to her principles against Bolton.

Is this like season tickets being counted if you don't go - just wondered if they were included or not?

Yep... same deal as far as I know. Any ticket issued (not necessarily sold or even used) will be counted in the attendance.

First the academy set up, now this. If there ever was a game to boycott it's a game against a PL B team.

Let the clubs send these kids out on loan for free to L1&2 & conference clubs if they want them playing older professionals.
Ooooh! I like your thinking and controversial point of view but they won't do that and why? Because the Prem club won't make MONEY out of it!

Unfortunately its a tinpot trophy but, it's OUR trophy and should exclude the Prem teams Inc their b teams. Don't insult us amd make money out of us. The chances are that the players that might make it full time are probably already out on loan anyway and have their wages paid for by the yeams that are developing the players for the Billy bigbollox teams.

It will cost more than we bring in just to switch the floodlights on.
