Interesting most have chosen Duffy.

Granted, you don't become a bad player over night but so far, he's been the biggest disappointment for me.

Moore
Freeman O'Connell Wright Hussey
Basham Fleck
Chapman Coutts Duffy
Sharp

With possible additions at CM who drives forward, CB who controls his back for and the players in front of him and a Winger who puts crosses in and runs to the by-line (like Jamie Murphy)

- - - - - - - - - - Moore
- - - - Basham - Wright - - O'Connell
Freeman - - - Whiteman Fleck" - - - - - -- - K Wallace
- - - - -- - - Duffy- - - - Scougall
- - - - - - - - - - - - Clarke*

" Coutts * Sharp (if first choice unfit)

Subs: Ramsdale, Wilson, Hussey, Coutts, Chapman, Sharp, Done

Standby: Reed, DCL

Not a side that fills me with any confidence but no combination of players does at the moment...

Rationale:
- 3-5-2/5-3-2 to try and add some solidity.
- Wright used to play for Oxford and has been captain at different clubs so hopefully he should add some leadership and organisation
- Lots of changes as it seems blatantly obvious that a lot of players don't deserve their places at the moment (tomorrow my first match of season but performances so far have been (almost) unanimously slated...)
- drop Sharp as a signal to him and all players that nobody's guaranteed a start
- try Scougall and Duffy in quite free roles behind Clarke to get some clever movement and unpredictably further up the pitch (both should be clever/quick players at this level if playing with confidence.........)
- I would play Whiteman merely because I like there to be at one youth prospect in the team or at least on the bench (and I don't fancy the look of a Coutts/Fleck CM partnership)

A win at home to Oxford would be a genuine surprise!!!

UTB!!

Moore

Freeman Wilson O'Connell Wallace

Basham Coutts Fleck

Chapman Clarke McNulty

Subs: Ramsdale, Wright, Hussey, Scougall, Done, DCL, Sharp

A starting eleven that can handle the expectation of playing in front of 18,000 crowds without turning to jelly.

Moore
Basham Wilson Wright Hussey
Coutts Fleck
Duffy Scougall Chapman
Clarke

Can't believe, with the glaring holes that need filling, we've signed no-one at all this week, but hey-ho.

My team for Saturday (not sure they would get it over the line though, dodgy fax machine)

A lot going for Clarke upfront on his own, why? He's sauntered through the first 4 games, hardly broke sweat, never looked like scoring and generally looks like he wishes he was somewhere else. Give me Billy every time, might not be on his A game right now but will always run through brick wall for us, never hides, never stops.

Can anyone honestly say Clarke is any better than Sammon so far?

Time to go five at the back, our full-backs aren't defenders, they obviously have the potential to succeed as more attacking full backs. You're all going to say "Adkins did that, didn't work" to his defence he had Jay Mceverly at LWB, who wasn't the most attacking LB, also his tactics didn't suit the formation. Additionally we have Chris Hussey the best attacking full-back in the league while at Bury.

So here is the team

Moore

Freeman Wright O'Connell Wilson Hussey

Duffy Scougall Coutts Chapman

Clarke

Moore ....... Freeman Wilson Wright Hussey....... Coutts Basham...... Duffy Scougal Done...... Sharp

This based on Fleck, Clarke, McNulty being injured .

My mate bumped into Leon tonight in the Copthorne, told him he wasn't playing tomorrow because of an ankle injury - how true that is I don't know.

Hopefully it's the "Beattie Flu" scenario and he's got a move to Fleetwood or somewhere lined up.

Try to keep up, Billy is utter shit now, last season doesn't matter and Leon is the new hero who will win us promotion single handedly.
