I've been told today by Sebastian (Billy's brother) that he's leaving because wilder wants to build the attack around Clarke. Ipswich is a possible destination it seems.

Sign Matty Taylor first and then sell Sharp, fine.

Anything else, no way.

It would be a massive shame to get the team functioning properly but not have Sharp to call on.

Not sure why we would sell sharp and sign a similar striker. The clubs that want Taylor will offer the same as we are paying sharp.its more important to get pace and flair round Clarke than replace sharp with similar on my opinion.

I want Billy to stay but at this point i want wilder to work more

Looking more and more a certainty this inevitable.

Does Wilder know what he is doing . ( Billy captain and all that jazz)

Method in his madness . Reducing the wage bill.

Individual or collective decisions being made which is good if you replace certain players with equal or better .

As it stands and how Billy as played to date , a bit like Brayford , bite the bullet and get rid.

Showing boat loads of rookie inexperienced management our Wilder , but everything is so shite , the little fat fucker will pull us round .

Nothing , nothing should surprise us

I love how people are so quick to jump on sharp this season last season he stopped us from relegation with his goals as the rest of the team was useless.

This season he has had 4 games and scored a goal when the team is underachieving as it is and yet your all happy to see sharp go? Agreed he hasn't done much this season but sharp is a goal scorer and will surely come good. I think it would be a real shame to see sharp go.

God knows how many people have opened threads about give wilder time and this and that and he is a blade , well it's only the same with sharp he is a blade and wants to do well for his team but at the minute it's not happening for the team not just sharp.

Taylor has pace, he's younger and is a goalscorer. He'd be a good replacement AND someone who can offer something else and could play with Clarke. I assume we'll also offload McNulty or Done which creates more need for someone like Taylor.

I'd rather not take the risk of selling a proven goalscorer like Sharp, but if he's spat his dummy out I wouldn't complain too much. He's not bigger than the club, and he needs to remember that he's the captain - he doesn't appear to be acting like one.

Oh I can just see it now we sell sharp and we don't replace we get the oh we just couldn't get 1 over the line and with us struggling no one was willing to come haha

You forgot about Ched, Ricky. I'd be happy to lose Sharp for him too. But we can dream on.

Well.
That would be our three best players gone then.
It'd be weird to sell your top two goalscorers from last season, especially when you've just made one your captain.

This season just keeps getting better and better! :(

No surprise. It will be the treble: Sharp, Long and Done = best part of another mill. for Kev to count when he goes to bed. Wilder gone by the end of October and League 2 next year.

We were promotion favourites last season. I did make a post in here last season that I didnt think Sharp would be a key signing for us to get promotion. He saved us from promotion? Utter bollocks? We have been crying for pace up front. Adkins played the team around Sharp and this cost us promotion (I was right!)

It's surely better that we determine if anyone else in the club is capable of scoring (doesnt seem obvious) before we bin last season's leading goal scorer.

Have to say I can't see the Clarke / Sharp partnership working right now, but let's not chuck the baby out with the bath water.

Sharp looks very laboured in his play, but he did last year and still scored 20+ goals.

Impossible to know in reality. No Sharp would have meant A.N. Other playing up front.

Would we have scored more goals? Who knows.
Would we have conceded fewer goals? Who knows

Would it have turned the likes of Coutts and Basham into goal scoring midfielders? It's a guess but probably not.

...perhaps Billy's being sold to pay for Moore..?

Can see this ...

the club stands by Wilder and sells the team captain and only player likely to score around 20 goals this season so he can build a team to his style

We sign or loan in, A.N Other to fit into this style.

Results don't pick up..

Wilder is sacked in a desperate attempt to avoid relegation, new manager is left with all Wilders signings who don't fit in to his style.

Sharp scores for fun at his new club. We can't hit a barn door from five paces.

Relegation to League 2

McCabes swears he won't rest until we get back up...

And on and on and on....

When my son was playing junior football I have seen managers instructing the players to pass the ball to his son over and over again. Watching the Blades last season reminded me of this!

Yep that's my scenario too.

Getting the ball to your best goal scorer, yeah what a stupid idea.
