Bloody hell there are some drama queens on here. Brayford was a costly mistake, who hasn't got remotely close to recapturing his loan form. On top of that, he's had 2 lengthy injuries. The transfer fee and wages combined have cost us a small fortune. He hasn't been happy at the club for a long time, and it's evident that it's affected his performances - he's simply been going through the motions. We have Freeman, Wilson and Basham who can play there for now, as well as any potential youngsters from the academy. Wilder will use the funds to find a replacement, as well as strengthening elsewhere. It's not the end of the world, calm the fuck down.

Absolutely UnitedBlade, it almost makes me cry thinking we brought Collins and Doyle in to replace Bartley and Britton :(

As for Brayford, absolutely right he's gone absolute flop relative to what we paid. Hopefully he can succeed and we can get a fee down the line, and even if we are paying half his wages that a fair amount we can use productively elsewhere.

As is always the question, will we?

We'll have to disagree on this. I think they were very limited. The Wilson first season success was driven by players of above L1 standard ie Ched, Lowton, Harry, Williamson etc. Collins and Doyle were never to play above L1 again. They put effort in but weren't good enough in my view.

Definitely Ched, Quinn and co were the better players but in the first two seasons in League One Collins and Doyle performed consistently too. They then started to get older and once the better players left then they were obviously not good enough, bit Collins and Doyle gave their all and played at a consistent basis that was good enough to stay in the team and deliver 90 points and then reach the play offs the season after and in the cup runs too in Doyles case. I'm not saying they were world beaters but I respected their contribution.

Only time will tell whether or not it's a good move but at least CW is trying to do something. Whenever a manager comes in there will be players that, for different reasons, won't or can't play for him. Adkins had the same problem and, whilst I accept he was more restricted by our wage bill and contracts, didn't address the situation.

Wilder is doing and it may or not work out for him but if he sat and did nothing, it definitely won't work out.

Or the club had told him he was going out on loan to save money and he thought, fuck it?

Salient question. Why are we 'saving money'? I thought money was available? I thought we'd ditched players to already lower the wage bill considerably? Where's the Adams money?

And Michael Brown's replacement is already at the club.

Britton was a top player but not suited to our style of football mate which is why he left. I'll not defend them anymore because oI've said my bit but Doyle and Collins can look at themselves in the mirror and say they gave their all for us and played in a decent team that got 90 points. Britton, Bartley and co won't even think about United or have any fond memories for us because they were only here for months and in that time we lost most weeks. If we're going to rule players sales and rightly we do at times then Maguire, Quinn and Murphy were the big losses.

Give us a chance. We've bought a new keeper for starters. Any comment on MacCabe sanctioning 500k for a championship keeper? Not bad that for a struggling league one club eh? Or do you only jump on the negative stuff?

I am really disappointed that Brayford has gone. Adams I could tolerate, Long having competition is ok but Brayford? Who have we got thats better and as weve just paid half a million for Moore, where is the money coming from for a BETTER QUALITY replacement?

Adams scored 11 goals. That is contributing a lot. I know you don't understand this.

We have Clarke mate, we don't need Adams.

This loan move stinks and its clear Wilder and Brayford have fallen out. Total fucking joke to get rid of him though despite him being out of form at the moment.

Anyway I am sure the transfer listed Freeman or Wallace will be filling in tomorrow.

Sell our better players and start replacing with worse then we know where we are going and it isn't the Championship.

Was it £500k? Is that what Wikipedia tell you?

An you act like this is wonderfully planned. Up until the first 15 minutes of Tuesday's game we'd still be playing George Long tomorrow.

So what happened to the £1.x million for Adams?

Sure Wilder was on record
As saying we want 4 in before we sold Adams

So

Out - Adams Brayford Woolford

In Chapman Moore

My maths would suggest we need to sign at least 5 more ... We won't.

Rob Staton said the fee was "in the region of £500,000", but i assume that could be less with a few add ons included.
Moore said the interest in him from us came at the weekend.

Rob banned me from Twitter when I pointed out to him he was the journalistic equivalent of Nick Montgommery.

What the fuck?

£1m for a FB and we don't even play him and send him on loan? I know the Beard's form has been indifferent but class is permanent and who the hell is going to do a better job?

Wilder must have had a bust up with him.

I don't agree with this at all unless we have a better player lined up. Which we won't have.

Is it just me who thinks Freeman wasn't that bad? And only got dropped last season because Adkins didn't have the bottle to put 2 million Brayford on the bench.

Yes Freeman goes missing but invariably it's because he's trying to get us to go forward.

Btw if Billy or McNulty go I'll go mad. We need more strikers not less.

The Beard bought a house just round the corner from me a few months ago. Used to see him regularly in the local and have a chat. Top man and wish him all the best.

Although if he's commuting to Burton, he'll need a new car!

There's an Aston Martin showroom on the way.

It's not just you. Sadly

The Star understands it consists of a £250,000 downpayment with a further £240,000, dependent upon certain performance-related targets, possibly owed.
