Team v Millwall

My bet goes on the same team. Tufts seems to have a touch of the "you got us into this mess, so you'll get us out of it" mentality. It is that or he is like every other manager at this level, he doesn't like to admit he was wrong.

From today's interview, it sounded to me like Wilder is likely to make changes to the team and maybe also formation, mentioning "too many goals have been going in".

Probably something along the lines of "you were absolute shite against Dale, now go and prove me wrong"...and they didn't.

Stop trying to be sensible!

Quality analysis from CW.

O'connell is awful, can't pin all the blame on long, everyone putting new GK for Saturday think we also need a new Centre half as well.
O'Connell is far from awful. He's been solid in every game so far this season. It doesn't help that he's on the left side, next to Hussey! It was Hussey who was awful again on Tuesday night.

Moore
Freeman. Wilson. Wright. Hussey.
Basham.

Chapman. Fleck. Duffy.
Mcnulty
Clarke.

Anything wrong with this?? Can't be any worse than anything I've seen so far!

(GK) Moore
(RB) Freeman
(CB) O'Connell
(CB) J.Wright
(LB) K.Wallace
(DM) Whiteman
(DM) Basham
(CM) Coutts
(RWF) Chapman
(LWF) McNulty
(CF) Clarke/Sharp

J.Wright to offer a calm, experienced influence back there to settle down 'another' completely new back four. He's been skipper everywhere he's been for a reason surely he's got to be able to lead for Wilder once again in this time of need?

K.Wallace in at left back as Hussey's performance Tuesday deserves a dropping, no matter how good his 1/5 deliveries is he simply hasn't looked up to it thus far & personally I've always thought Wallace has done alright when called upon at LB. Freeman in for Brayford, tell both full-backs to not go 'bombing on' from minute one, if the opportunity arises then go for it but we can't afford to concede early again.

Whiteman deserves his chance, young fresh legs wanting to prove himself, get him in. Basham sitting alongside him just tell them two to break up play & give it Coutts. Coutts the best passer at the football club infront of them, get him on the bag of air dictating play.

Chapman has got pace to burn & skill to match that we've not seen as of yet as his appearances have been in very difficult circumstances. Get him to stretch the play & 'go at them', offer the back 6 breathing space. McNulty the same on the left but get him to 'tuck in' & get close to Clarke/Sharp as much as he can & play as a two whenever he can.

Sharp or Clarke - either or but at the minute they simply can't play together as it just isn't working. Something has got to give & the shape has to change to allow us to get a foothold on games as we're continually being over-run & these two are not getting any sort of understanding together as a partnership.

Oh & pray (we're gonna need to) :D

Easy this manager lark.
All the best Chris, KTF COYRAWW

........................Moore
Brayford Wilson O'Connell K Wallace
...............Whiteman Basham
.......................Mcnulty
............Duffy Clarke Chapman

reckon it will be something like this given that we need more control of the ball in midfield and that CW singled out Leon Clarke on tuesday night as someone who worked harder than the rest of the team having 3 in midfield and 3 up front may be the solution for tomorrow.

Chapman, the guy who has 1 professional goal to his name ahead of McNulty who's only attribute is scoring?
Do you think he'll bring K.Wallace in too?

I fully expect it to be the same as tuesday except Moore for Long and if the rumours are true Freeman in for Brayford

If we do need more control of the ball in midfield then surely our best two players of controlling the ball is coutts and Fleck

fleck got a groin injury in first half of southend. The team news on the website said he'l most likely miss tomorrows game

With Brayford gone, you'd have thought freeman would get a run out, but might shift Wilson out and play Wright instead- thoughts?

Moore

Freeman Wilson O'Connell Wright

Duffy Coutts Basham Chapman

McNulty Clarke

Got a feeling we might get beat.

Will we have enough players left to put a team out.? Coach will be coming back half empty at this rate

I'll go for something original:

Moore
Basham Wilson Wright O'Connell
Duffy Whiteman Fleck/Coutts Hussey
Chapman
Clarke

4 big lads at the back. When Basham played RWB last year he was quite good. Wright in the middle organising, O'Connell has played left back before.

Hussey left wing. He can create, would do so more further up the pitch, would be less exposed defensive and conversely would know how to support O'Connell.

Whiteman is the only fit combative midfielder left and is a decent height to have alongside Fleck or a rejuvenated Coutts.

Chapman is the only genuine pave we have so give him freedom behind Clarke who is the only genuine physical presence we have.

Plenty of attacking options on the bench therefore if needed.

How do you propose to cope in midfield after Millwall have trampled on that midfield in the first 5 minutes?

That's the lack of options we have though, isn't it?

And why it bemuses that we have spent zero on a central midfielder. If Basham ends up at right back and there must be a 50% chance, then who do we have? Reed? Scougall? Wallace? There are potentially 9 6-footers in that line up, only exceptions Duffy and Chapman if Coutts plays instead of Fleck.

Does it matter? Let's face it we will be lucky if it's not a cricket score.

Moore

Freeman - Wilson - O'Connell - K Wallace

Basham - Coutts - Whiteman

Mcnulty - Sharp

Clarke

Long - Wright - Hussey - DCL - Duffy - Chapman - Scougall

Full back to provide any width, Midfielders to tuck in and cover when needed. Sharp and Mcnulty to work hard and play off Clark.

Looking at my team and everyone else's, Centre midfield is the next weak area that must be strengthened.

I hope it's something like this:

-------------------Moore
Freeman Wilson O'Connell Hussey
-----------------Basham
------Whiteman------Fleck---------
---Duffy---------------------Chapman
------------------Sharp

I can't see it though.

Clarke has played quite a few games as the withdrawn striker. Give that a go, might stop them high balling to the front.

If Fleck isn't fit, Basham would probably play (or Whiteman) and Freeman at right back.

I would go with
Moore
Freeman
Wilson
Wright
Hussey

Fleck
Coutts/Whiteman
Duffy
Chapman

Sharp
Clarke

Im off to McCabe's bar in Portugal to watch soccer Saturday. Cmon blades ffs, don't make me smash the place up.

I'm going to invent an ultra defensive formation 3-5-1-1.

And we'll still get beat but maybe minimise a drubbing.

Moore
Basham O'Connell Wright
Duffy Whiteman Coutts Wilson Chapman
Sharp or McNulty
Clarke

Hope for the best until we recruit some quality.
