It'll happen if the player fancies the move and the price is right. Unless you're saying we're literally the only club in the world who have good players moving on with 3 weeks to go?
We are the only club in the world to do so badly reinvesting the money....probably :)

Hopefully things will be different and we will see the money, and Wilder will invest it well.

For what it's worth I believe Wilder has done well up to now on what will have certainly been a tight budget. Paying off Adkins & staff and sorting out the Hammond fuck up won't have been cheap. Without anyone moving on, I imagine that would have probably been it for now.

I'm guessing, of course, but you'd imagine there's enough in the coffers for at least one signing after this sale goes through. Again, no fucking excuses this time. Hope that new scouting fella is putting the hours in with CW and hunting down what we badly need.

Who are we going to buy these players from?

Are players going to step down a division or two?
Will our rivals sell to us?
And why do we need to cash in on Adams to sign someone from League 2?

It's nonsense. It's the same old crap. Reactive rather than proactive. This is the third season on the bounce we've sold an important player without having the faintest idea of who's going to replace him. We do not know what we are doing.

Yes now we're in urgent need of a third choice striker!

We're in urgent need of one that's not a clone of Sharp and Clark, two pretty similar players.

Fine. I'm sure the money will be invested, it will be good business, and we'll get the players we need. People tell me this every year. One day that blind squirrel will find the nut, I am sure.

To me, we've sold a non-essential member of the squad. We've got a bit of cash to go back in the market and strengthen again. The club, through Wilder, have already said that to the press.

Not really much more to say in my opinion apart from wait and see.

How do you know we have no idea who's going to replace him? Wilder will know exactly what he can spend and it's been on the cards for so long he will have players in mind and enquiries made. Or does it just suit your arguement to assist the board bashing? Normally I would agree with you to an extent but I reckon Wilder will have the majority of not all of the cash to fund more players. Howard Kendall once sold Nathan Blake and we were up in arms but he spent the money wisely and made us a far better side. I reckon Wilder will do the same

It's too late.

Well run clubs don't sell good players at this point as it disrupts things.

And it is telling you have to go back 20 years for an example of transfer money being well spent.

Cos it wasn't a done deal on saturday. Wilder had said if there was no new bid he was taking him to Bolton on Saturday and he did as he said. Good bit of brinkmanship I reckon instead of the usual capitulation - bid went in last night for £2m I heard.

It the terms of the transfer fee etc all details were agreed Saturday night as i mentioned previously. As of the time of the match saturday afternoon they had still to agree a fee. Wilders comments about not hearing anything were also taken straight after the game but i am led to believe that he knew it was imminent. Wildthing was right to use him Saturday as he wasnt to know it wouldes escalate at boardroom level in a matter of hours after the final whistle. Good business i think. He has already mentioned that they are to 're-enter' the transfer market. In truth he didnt have any more wriggle room until Che went and CW wanted him gone.

There's a thread elsewhere, decrying suggestions that we should be able to get £200k for Scougall, a fringe division 1 player who will struggle to get in the team this season. Yet Adams is being given away...? Discuss.

My god ..... if we could find somebody to give us £200k for Scougal we would be MAD to turn that down !!!

One step forward two steps back. Another player that is leaving for next to fuck all once you factor in Ilkeston's clause.

3 weeks or so til the window closes, we best be working some fucking magic with regards to new players between now and then.

If it's wrapped up today, we have three weeks remaining. That's plenty of time to go out and get some pace. No excuses really, much to the dismay of the club I imagine!

You underestimate the ingenuity at our Club !!

I'm certain that despite selling Adams for a cut price fee we will find some incredibly sound reason why the transfer funds can't be given to Tufty to give him a chance to build a squad capable of promotion. o_O

Its the Blades way ......

I'd definitely start Adams tomorrow now. Get him cup-tied, that should scare the brummies off.

Seriously though, if this now gives us some money to complete the set then fine. I would prefer Adams to stay as he clearly has the potential but if we can get a first XI winger and central midfielder in addition to a backup striker with the money we're bringing in then the sale is for the best. The problem i see is that the money won't get reinvested... again! Wilder has said that he has the boards total backing, not sure how true that is.

Wilder has just today stated, as quoted by James Shield, that he is ready to jump immediately in to the transfer market again. New signings are imminent, which I believe means this week?

Wilder has obviously done his homework (probably weeks ago) and knows exactly which players he wants and needs. Players will already have been lined-up for the specific positions, that he knows are needing to be filled. The sale of Che Adams will allow him to strengthen the obvious weaknesses that Wilder knows exist.

Wilder is not stupid, and is no mug. Let the bloke do his job, and I'm pretty sure that we will do very well this season.

Who does Wilder think he is?
We haven't told him which players he wants and needs yet - we're still arguing about them!

Still no news on the Paul Caddis coming the other way. If it means Brayford is going then Caddis is an excellent replacement. I just hope we act this week and sign a left winger as a priority. Listening to Wilder's interview today, where I was surprised that Andy Giddings didn't ask if Caddis was coming, It didn't seem anything is imminent, i.e today, but hopefully by Friday something will happen.

Wilder.

None of this "Tufty" nonsense.

Have an easy like.
