If we can get fees for Done and Scougall as well, and get a left winger, a centre-mid, a centre-back and a goalie with the fees (happy to take good quality loanees for one or any of those positions), we'll have done extremely well.

Can't see it, but we live in hope.

Ah..I see he got the fax...

I'll be disappointed by this. I don't think he's good enough to start up front at the moment, but he's absolutely a better option than Done on the left-wing, as shown last season where he was particularly effective in taking opportunities that came to him after we'd attacked down the opposite flank. Given the opportunity I think he'd continue to improve...

Maybe, but he didn't kick on enough last year and we do need players who can do it now. If he doesn't want to play for us then move him on and use the money for 2 or 3 players ready to give 100%.

Good luck to him and let's hope he doesn't disappear like a number of who young players who left us too early. If he was that good it wouldn't be Brum buying him.

I'm far more disappointed in Che Adams as a player than I am about his sale.

If he hasn't ever settled in Sheffield but finds himself right at home in Birmingham and kicks on, then fair play to the lad. But I don't think his head is right. His interview after the Spurs game was real Jimmy Muir stuff and you could see the stars in his eyes. That faded all too quickly and the numerous stories of him pissing it up are too frequent.

Official - Clubs have agreed fee, Che has agreed terms, all hangs in the balance of a medical.

There's a thread elsewhere, decrying suggestions that we should be able to get £200k for Scougall, a fringe division 1 player who will struggle to get in the team this season. Yet Adams is being given away...? Discuss.

Piss my pants if he failed it lmao
:D

After his cameo the season before last, and then seeing him in pre season under Adkins - I felt 100% sure we were onto something special. I was genuinely excited, and was confident we'd see a real star who would go to the very top of the game.

However, since then, his head appears to have gone, the rumours of him misbehaving are too common not to be true, he's bulked up and lost some of his pace, and doesn't seem interested in learning the tactical part of the game.

Like you say if part of his problems is being in Sheffield, then good luck to him elsewhere, because it was never going to work playing for us.

I wonder how many times opposition fans have left a game thinking "That Che Adams is a special talent isnt he?" - I dont reckon many.

Adams is being given away.

Anyone who'd pay a fee for Scougall is insane.

Revolution expects Sheffield United will fail to bring in quality players, having left it too late.

Again.

Get rid of Woolford and J. Wallace first. Then look to bring in a winger, midfielder and centre half

Why get rid of them first? Bring in new players as priority and let them rot in the reserves till we're in a position to pay them off, not to the detriment of wasting any money we could potentially use to bring others in.

If he does go today and the deal was more or less done on Saturday as some have said, why the hell would we risk him knowing that one bad tackle could scupper the deal and possibly feck up Wilder's recruitment plans?

It dunna make sense I tell ye!
Cos it wasn't a done deal on saturday. Wilder had said if there was no new bid he was taking him to Bolton on Saturday and he did as he said. Good bit of brinkmanship I reckon instead of the usual capitulation - bid went in last night for £2m I heard.

Again.

If it's wrapped up today, we have three weeks remaining. That's plenty of time to go out and get some pace. No excuses really, much to the dismay of the club I imagine!

So what's the difference between the two? Brief cameos not long after arriving, fading away since and struggling to get into the team. One is definitely worth sod all, the other is being sold cheap at £1.7m?

Fan logic, eh?

No there isn't. People are not selling good players now. They need them. Because if you sell you can't get replacements.

Adams was second top scorer last season, his first full year as a professional. Plus he's getting bigger and stronger.

Scougall has the body of a 14 year old and last played well 2 years ago.

If you are seriously telling me they are the same, there's really nothing I can do for you.

Even if it's not clear to you, Birmingham clearly see who's more valuable.

But earlier reports this pre-season said he's lost pace and I thought that's what we are in need of

Not at the expense of selling our second top scorer. How about not bringing in Leon Clarke - 10 years older than Adams - and using the money from his wages to get some pace?

How about McCabe actually funding it independently, rather than pursue this bankrupt strategy yet again?

It'll happen if the player fancies the move and the price is right. Unless you're saying we're literally the only club in the world who have good players moving on with 3 weeks to go?

Who are we going to buy these players from?

Are players going to step down a division or two?
Will our rivals sell to us?
And why do we need to cash in on Adams to sign someone from League 2?

It's nonsense. It's the same old crap. Reactive rather than proactive. This is the third season on the bounce we've sold an important player without having the faintest idea of who's going to replace him. We do not know what we are doing.

I agree, actually. Just making the point that the Adams fee is probably what he's worth. And as far as Wilder is concerned, they are similar, though Adams would probably have got more game time, neither would have started too often.

This assumes Leon Clarke will score goals. I have my doubts.

But they're Fleetwood and we're The Mighty Blades.

who sit proudly 7 places above us in the league

Why was he in Fleetwood? Oh yes, one goal, no assists, and lots of falling over in one and a half seasons.

Saturday's cameo was more of the same.

Not looking at a stat table , just going on what Fleetwood fans have said, and his MOTM awards.
